sticking one of those lil stickers from fruit on someone is a love language
My understanding of D&D is that the GM has the power to make the next quest a heist, but the players control whether the background music for this heist will be the Pink Panther theme, the Mission Impossible theme, or the Benny Hill theme.
Thatâs it, thatâs the game!
highly recommend blocking ppl just because u don't like their vibe. even if they seem nice and haven't done anything wrong, but you just don't like them for reasons you can't articulate? slam that block button. your experience on this website will be improved for it. blocking isn't a moral judgment its just a way to exercise control over your space
I mean, yes, but also consider that people who have RSD, self-esteem issues, and/or a history of bullying/ostracization can be severely triggered by getting blocked for no reason. It can send people into spirals of overanalyzing what they could have done wrong and drowning in feelings about how theyâre terrible and everybody hates them. Spirals like that can last for hours or days and be extremely debilitating. While I understand the intent here of curating your own space and making your experience as stress-free as possible, you need to understand there can be consequences of that that youâre totally unaware of. And if you donât feel you should have to worry about other peopleâs mental health or you donât have the energy to, thatâs fine, block away, but this is something I think needs to be said and not nearly enough people understand or consider.
hi! if you come into my space and make me uncomfortable Iâm completely within my rights to remove you from my space and donât owe you any explanation. I have adhd and struggle with rsd and I know what itâs like but Iâm going to be completely blunt - if a stranger on the internet who youâve never interacted with blocks you, and that sends you into a spiral, thatâs not their fault and is something you need to discuss with a therapist. it is not my problem, just like my reaction to being blocked is not your problem. itâs really, really not cool to make your symptoms and your disordered thinking other peopleâs responsibility

One of my least favourite dialogue tropes is when a man tells a woman, âYou canât do thatâ or âI wouldnât do that if I were youâ and she says, âWhy? Because Iâm a woman and therefore too weak to handle this/canât take care of myself?â or something to that effect and the guy replies with, âNo, because everyone who tried that ended up with a bullet in their brainâ or something equally reasonable and not gender-specific that paints him as the rational not sexist guy and the woman as an irrational paranoid feminist who searches for sexism in everything. This whole scenario is built on the idea that sexism is over and womenâs fears and suspicions donât have a leg to stand on. Itâs also self-congratulatory pseudofeminism bc itâs supposed to make the viewer/reader/listener feel that in this specific work of fiction women are treated respectfully and as equal with men.
huh.. never thought of it like that
But, what if the male character isnât sexist? I meamâŚtheir fictional sure butâŚIâm not sure how to phrase this
Its not a question of the character themselves- its how the writers are portraying them. The way this trope plays out, the whole moment revolves around the woman looking foolish for assuming that there is sexism happening. She is characterized as being irrational, jumping to conclusions, even insecure. While the dude is characterized as the calm, rational one.
It is a trope that specifically works by taking a woman standing up to sexism and saying âhaha it wasnt actually sexist at all! Isnt calling out sexism foolish and silly. Thats what you get for assuming that men are sexist!â
I have the same reaction with homophobic jokes set up like this. Like the whole âyou canât marry a womanâ, âwhy bc you think its wrongâ âno we havenât found you the right dress yet silly!â Or stuff along those lines.
It feels like someone setting up to punch you and then you duck and the person goes âhaha, i wasnât gonna punch you at all, why would you duck? You shouldnt just assume someoneâs gonna deck you because they have their fists up.â
âŚhuh, wow.Â
Let's break down the McElroy brother team-ups once and for all.
Justin & Griffin vs. Travis: the most common. For some reason these two loves to rip Travis apart regarding everything. If Clint isn't there Travis will always be the first target.
Justin & Travis vs. Griffin: the second most common. They're his older brothers. They don't do it constantly but when they do it it's so brutal that everyone remembers every time it happens. It is hilarious.
Griffin & Travis vs. Justin: the rarest. They try but most often they fail. Is it because he's their older brother or because Justin is impossible to drive over the edge by making fun of him? It's both, one would not exist without the other.
Justin and Griffin vs. Travis: Play Along At Home
Justin and Travis vs. Griffin: Contractor Buddies
Griffin and Travis vs. Justin: Boat Drinks

Wait for it

is anyone going to tell the people in the notes who are calling the driver an idiot that they did not, in fact, wait for it?
(or that the driver that other people so clearly see is, in fact, not)
ok fuck that got me
Hollywood dehumanizes people of color on screen using racist media narratives in order to justify oppression and violence against people of color in real life. These comics touch on a lot of complicated subjects about race and gender in media, but I realized mainstream representation metrics like the Bechdel-Wallace Test, Riz Test, DuVernay Test, and Aila Test donât fully cover the criteria to discuss those issues, so I made a test of my own.
I didnât want to name it after myself at first, but after years of experience in both comics and Hollywood and having my work and ideas stolen and reposted online too many times to count, I know that no one will give you credit unless you claim it, so I decided to put my name on it. These are just a few of many stereotypical roles for POC but there are others, all designed to depict POC as inferior. Overall, the purpose of Hollywood is to produce propaganda to benefit cis-het white menâby lying about how pure and good they areâat the expense of everyone else. Basically, films are required to fail this test in order to reach the screenâeven with leads of color. Letâs use Asian American films as examples: To All The Boys fails 1, 4 and 6. The Big Sick fails 2, 4 and 5. Always Be My Maybe fails 6. Itâs hard to think of a film that passes. Some say representation is a frivolous concern, but the fact is that movies and TV are not an escape from realityâthey tell us what our reality should be. Media messaging is an integral part of the systems that perpetuate state violence and oppressive policies against POC. Thatâs why having tests like these matterâit forces us to think deeply about the kind of content weâre creating and consuming, and to push harder to do better. It requires that the world sees POC and other marginalized people as people, and to treat us that way, both on screen and off. Note: I didnât include non-binary POC in the comics because they tend to not get roles at all, and if they do, are usually put into either the men or women category. I also didnât include white women, who are dehumanized as women but differently than WOC due to white supremacy. (Please donât repost or edit my art. Reblogs are always appreciated.)
