"Bembeyaz teninden omuzlarına akan saçları siyah straplez elbisesine rengini sıçratıyor, peyzajın yansımasıyla yeşil gözleri her zamankinden daha derin bakıyordu. Mimar seksiliği diye bir şey vardı ve çıplaklıkla ilgisi yoktu.

Biz mimarlar mesai uzatmaya kolay katlanır, zaman zaman bununla övünürdük bile. Mimarlık fedakarlıktı. Meslek değil, bir hayat biçimiydi. Biçim lafını duyunca zaten gözümüz başımız oynuyor, egomuz tavan yapıyordu. Kötü çalışma koşullarını bu yüzden kolay kabulleniyorduk. Klas insanlardık ama yaşadığımız koşulları düşününce, boşuna biz mimarlar için "bin liralık elitler" demiyorlardı.

Başka meslekten arkadaşlarımız cumartesi günü Caddebostan sahilini katederken biz o katlara, kotları yazanlardık. Haftada 45 saat çalıştığın bir hayat mı? Saçmalamayın. Sizler mimarsınız, yarı tanrı sayılırsınız. Başka meslekten arkadaşlarımız cuma geceleri günahlar içerisinde kulaç atarken, bizler ofislerimizde "yaratma sürecimiz"le övünç duyardık.

Bir de diğer meslekten arkadaşlarımız ağlanırlardı ya, pazartesi sendromu diye. Biz sizin geçtiğiniz yollardan geri dönmüştük beyler. Pazartesi sendromunu pazar günleri de çalışmak suretiyle aştık.

Peki seks bunun neresinde?.. O konuya birazdan geleceğim.

Doğru ya, eteğin kalçasında olmasına gerek yoktu. Pileli olduğunda esecek rüzgarın beklentisiyle kalanını zihnimizde modelleyebiliyorduk. Mimardık ve 3 boyutlu düşünüyorduk.

Ben şanslı bir çalışandım, patronlarım özel insanlardı. Ama istisnalar kaideyi bozmaz, sektörün durumu belliydi. Sigortaların genelde asgariden gözükmesi de çoğumuzun sol tandanslı düşünce yapısından olmalıydı. Devlet nezlinde eşit koşullarda hayat sürdüğümüzü göstermek istiyor olmalıydık.

Yahu elalem aybaşında bankadan maaşlarını çekerdi, biz mimarlar maaşı zarftan çıkarıp bankaya yatırırdık.

Güzel olan topuklu ayakkabının kendisi değil, topuklu ayakkabının verdiği dirilikti. Kalçasının duruşu değişiyor, oturduğunda dizininin seviyesi yükseliyordu.

Ama maaşların gününde yatmasının tartışma konusu olmasını bile kabullenemiyorum.

Patronum; tahsilat sıkıntısı çektiğinde gönül rahatlığıyla maaşları erteliyorsun, ödemeni erken aldığında peşin peşin dağıtıyor musun? Ben neden çalışan bir mimarım ve neden senden daha az kazanıyorum biliyor musun? O stresi çekmemek için...

Tüm mimarlık çalışanlarının hakkını doğru araması gerekiyor. Bazı ofisler karşılıksız mesailerle veya yemek parasını vermediği stajyer ordusuyla piyasa fiyatlarını aşağı çekmemeli, sağlıklı bir rekabet oluşturmalıydı...

Bunun tek yolu da mimarların taleplerini güçlü bir şekilde, hep birlikte dile getirmesinden geçiyordu.

JOSEF HOFLEHNER'S JET AIRLINER

Photographer Josef Hoflehner has a new book out title Jet Airliner. The book is a series of black and white photos shot on Maho Beach right under the Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies. The photos are extremely breathtaking and I couldn’t imagine being at that beach, let alone how loud it would be! (via iconology).

Coca-Cola Invents 16 Crazy Caps to Turn Empty Bottles Into Useful Objects Ogilvy's '2nd Lives' campaign ByGabriel Beltrone

Rejoice, happy-go-lucky and environmentally conscious Coca-Cola lovers. Thanks to this new "2nd Lives" kit from the brand, you can now transform your Coke into something even more delightful.

Is that just an empty soda bottle? Nope, it's a squirt gun. Useless piece of trash? Nope, it's a pencil sharpener, or the perfect rattle for your baby. Make your children happy. Give them Coca-Cola, and toys made from Coca-Cola. And if you have two empty Coke bottles, you can even make a dumbbell to burn off some of the calories you gained by guzzling both.

Created with the help of Ogilvy & Mather China, the campaign features a line of 16 innovative caps that can be screwed on to bottles when they're empty, transforming them into useful objects like water guns, whistles, paint brushes, bubble makers and pencil sharpeners. It's all part of a clever effort to encourage consumers in Vietnam to recycle, and a rare success at the sort of alchemy that seeks to reincarnate garbage as advertising (even if such attempts are a cornerstone of the marketing industry). Coke will give away 40,000 of these modified caps, which come in 16 different varieties, to start.

It's not clear if the add-ons themselves are made from recycled material. Even if they are, producing more plastic parts might not be the best way to reduce plastic waste.

No one is better than Coca-Cola at having all of its communications, down to the very packaging, embody the brand promise of happiness and sharing.

Leo Burnett in Colombia had the latest clever idea in that department. It dreamed up a design for Coke's plastic bottles featuring a cap that could only be opened when fit together with another bottle's cap and twisted. Thus, you have to pair off to be refreshed.

To show off the design, the brand found people in most desperate need of a little friendly conversation, who are also generally not opposed to pairing off: college freshmen at the beginning of the school year. It put a stash of the bottles on a campus. The students had to partner with someone if they wanted to open their Coke.

Chris Kabel casts found objects in bronze for Fogo Island hotel key fobs

Dutch designer Chris Kabel has created key fobs from found objects and glowing curtains reminiscent of the Northern Lights for the Fogo Island Inn hotel on an isolated Canadian island.

Fogo Island is a tiny island off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada, close to the Artic Circle, which houses live-in artists' studios and cabins as part of an ongoing residency programme.

Chris Kabel's cast 29 "found objects" in bronze to create the Fogo Finds key fobs for the Fogo Island Inn, designed by Saunders Architects and built in 2013, which has 29 guest rooms along with public spaces including an art gallery curated by Fogo Island Arts and a library specialising in the local region.

The objects were all found on the island: washed up on the shore, in a fisherman's shed and even in the local supermarket.
