Mary was taken up to heaven and seated with god the father and his divine son Jesus. She became the main intercessor between human beings and the divine. She was called Mother of God and Queen of Heaven, but she was not made a full-fledged member of the Godhead. The Church used her to satisfy the need for a female presence in Christianity but also to keep women in a subordinate position. Nevertheless, the doctrine of her virginity gave women a way out of the role of submissive wife and bearer of children. When the cult of Mary was at its height, thousands of women escaped into convents, communities of women. There they developed skills and talents in the arts and in the administration of large estates. Many abbesses wielded significant power and controlled sizable amounts of wealth.

It is interesting that, just as the veneration of Mary reached its height in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, the Protestant Reformation reasserted the dominance of the male divinities. One of Luther's major reforms was the closing of nunneries, and Mary is notably absent from all formulations of Protestant theology and ritual. Whereas Catholic women have suffered from their attempts to imitate an impossible model, Protestant women have had no exalted female model of any kind. Mary's presence has been used by the Catholic Church to reinforce the subordination of women, and her absence has been used by Protestantism to reinforce their insignificance.

Hemoglobin (the bits containing iron that attract and carry oxygen) values below 13.2 g/dl are considered anemia in males. The threshold is 11.6 gm/dl in females. Under these values means YOUR BLOOD IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. *Your blood is sick*.

He should be far more worried about that than someone questioning his gender validation. If his blood was just under the minimum for females, he's even bigger trouble. But let's say he was at 12 gm/dl which is over the cutoff for females, but under males... it's still really unhealthy for females. You would be borderline, and it's up to the clinic's discretion to accept that donation at all. In any case, you need to assess your blood health.

The scientific illiteracy of the trans community is staggeringly high, and it is putting them in very unhealthy, possibly dangerous, situations. This male shouldn't have been so fixated his gender, but maybe been very concerned that no matter what his sex, his hemoglobin count is incredibly low. He is borderline anemic no matter what. 13 and under is considered "severe low". 7 or under is considered "dangerously low" and usually a reason for hospitalization. This idiot thinks HRT will make his blood cells better at carrying oxygen? When in fact, it's possible all those exogenous hormones are causing his RBCs to weaken (studies show this pattern in women who take HRT (estrogen/progesterone) for menopause and there are studies that also show increased testosterone-dependent RBC damage from exogenous HRT as well for females on male HRT) which makes anemia worse.

And...

In the case of blood donations, that mismatch can literally kill recipients. For example, a female donating plasma who calls herself male and is of any blood type other than AB, can cause TRALI, which is basically when your new blood causes extreme immune reaction to the body's own lungs. It can be fatal. It only happens with female plasma, from women who have carried a fetus to term. Anti-HLA antigens cannot be tested for in any blood except AB. But then, it is unlikely that the blood would be tested at all if she checked "male" on the form and nobody at the center questioned her birth sex. (They can, and occasionally do, do further screening on-site. Trans people have reported being asked to redo their intake forms where they put their legal gender instead of bio sex by employees after being asked birth sex.)

A transman could literally kill a male if she checked "male" on the intake form. I know we joke about killing all men here on radblr, but this is a real-world example of how sex can matter, even in the most unexpected ways. And this blasé approach to sex in the medical field now can have frightening consequences. Transmen also can develop erythrocytosis beyond even the levels of "cis" males. Their hemocrit levels are through the roof. This is also very bad (huge stroke and clot risk). At least most blood banks do screen out for that, iirc. Trans people should have to disclose their status and treatment regime. Other conditions do.

There is also the issue of the mostly unstudied effects that exogenous hormones can have on blood health. It's still a poorly studied area of hematology and transfusion care but studies are emerging of, for example, exogenous female hormone supplementation causing higher than normal hemolysis (aka red blood cells exploding/dying), which is terrible for transfusion recipients.

In general, there is more and more coming out that sex does matter in blood transfusions, but the mechanisms aren't clear and it's an area that is brand new. Of course, blood banks are freaking out and denying the findings of new studies are relevant.

And ER doctors generally don't check sex when hooking up transfusions either, just blood and antigen (Rh) type. The majority of transfusion reactions can be managed when caught in time, but it's the longterm outcomes that seem to be affected by sex. Most of these doctors are no longer in the picture by that point and would never be aware.

And, I will say, most blood banks do NOT ask about sex at birth anymore. There is a push from some organizations to change this back to force trans patients to acknowledge biological sex, not just legal gender. (The biggest issue imo is the medical establishment using sex and gender interchangeably.)

Three weeks later, they took a variety of questionnaires and inventories. One asked them to recommend the prison sentence for a hypothetical rapist. The chart above shows the difference in what they recommended by group. 

Conclusion: both men and women exposed to porn recommended reduced sentencing for rapists compared to those in the control group.

Consider that in 1982, watching 6 porn films was considered “massive exposure.“ 

Also consider whether the judge and or jury members deciding your rapist’s fate may have watched more than 6 or more porn films.
