RTD did an astounding job on showing how the political climate has changed and the ripple effect that has run throughout society from social media and how people can be influenced over time.

It was powerful and moving throughout with an ending that does reflect what is going on in society.

The JKR's of the world rallying fear and hate for the trans community, removing the rights to support and medication, removing legislation written to protect the 0.1% of the population and dictating where people should go to the bathroom. While in the US they have taken the passports and the licences away from them, stopping them from being able to get away to safety.

Banning books that tell queer history or stories. Locally removing the pride flag from public buildings! councils banning libraries from displaying pride flags. Like a piece of rainbow cloth is going to somehow corrupt a child into 'turning gay'.

Within the last few weeks there was a rally outside Warwick County Council to try and protest the removal of funds to EQuiP. Reforms Michael Bannister and their political assistant came out and called homophobic remarks to the members of Warwickshire Pride who were there. In the meeting to discuss EQuiP that followed, Michael Bannister continued to be verbally abusive throughout & George Finch the child barely an adult showed his own immaturity and prejudice jeering throughout the meeting also.

People who are in place that are supposed to be helping the local community are instead attacking our communities. This is what the LGBTQ+ communities across the country now face.

Being Mocked, Jeered, ignored, verbally and physically attacked. Rights being taken away and prejudice and hate spreading.

But the issue is wider, it isn't just our community facing these issues. The world is becoming more and more unsafe. US banning abortions and taking body autonomy away from women.

Ice taking people literally off the streets and putting people into internment camps. Splitting families apart.

Police having too much power, shooting POC for merely moving.

Media fear mongering, making people mistrust people who are merely fleeing their countries for safety.

The ending of Tip Toe really did a great job at showing the reality of hate crimes, the time people would serve for such an act of horrific violence being minimal and how people are too focused on looking away instead of standing up and fighting for a community, be it refugee rights, women's rights, Black rights, or #LGBTQ+ rights. Just civil rights as a whole.

We need people now, more then ever to fight for Civil Rights for people and communities that are being attacked. Because once they have taken away our rights... they'll be coming for the rest of yours next. That is just history, it starts off with one group and it slowly spreads.
