ok so this book was absolutely insane. First off, I was absolutely intrigued by the concept, a tradwife influencer who ends up transported to the 1800s to actually live the lifestyle she encourages? But this book was so so so much more than that. Of you were expecting it drama it definitely brought it but there's so much more to it than just that.
I'm going to keep this spoiler free, just know that there are several twists and I didn't see them coming.
What initially made me want to read this book now (as in literally now, I finished it in a couple of hours) was a video I saw talking about how most of the book is actually her talking about her life. It acts as sort of a memoir almost about Natalie Heller Mills, not just her experiencing the real traditional life. She goes through her background, her upbringing, how she became an influencer, how she gained her family, etc. all interspersed in a back and forth between that life and the 1800s life.
Some things you may want to note, it does have some sexual scenes (this was surprising to me lol), as well as some violence, and mention of neglect and animal abuse. There's also a significant amount of political theming, and obviously a lot of religious theming as well, so if you're sensitive to those sorts of things you might not want to read this one.
Overall, I think it was a 4.5/5 stars! For being author Caro Claire Burke's first novel it was absolutely amazing, a truly spectacular debut. The pacing was well, and the entire thing is basically just one long internal monologue, so once you get used to that it's pretty smooth.
