Do you ever think about how canonically there was a camera rolling in the cockpit during the entire Taumoeba Fishing scene, and the footage might've made it onto the Beatles. The people on Earth might've seen it, seen how close it was. "The sky is just slightly on fire." The alarms starting to blare. Rocky screaming in horror as Grace almost dies retrieving the collector. The moment the fuel starts migrating. Grace losing consciousness. Rocky risking everything just to save him. I am going to SCREAM can you imagine watching that and it being real???? Watching with baited breath, knowing it was all okay in the end but not knowing yet how scary it was for them, how dangerous, how it even happened. How much it hurt. I'm gonna be sick.

I saw someone saying how Grace filled the role of the scientist, and Rocky the mechanic, but they never got a pilot. So may I propose that Simon 'figured-out-how-to-traverse-a-blood-ocean-with-no-view-of-surroundings-and-minimal-instruction' nolastname be appointed to that role to complete the crew roles. :)

ok but, in a "riko is king (the cat)" au (instead of dying properly, riko gets shunted into the body of a cat adopted by andreil), i imaging riko is like a cat that's running human software on cat hardware. but because he is but a cat with standard kitty ways of expressing emotions, he's much more transparent. like, in his mind, he's repetitively digging his sharp claws into neil's lap while neil sits, complacent and defenseless, because it feels soooo satisfying to be hurting neil but to an outside observer, that's just a cat that's purring and making biscuits on her caretaker's lap because she's clearly very content.
