The thing is you can have a grassy lawn or even a golf course without it being an ecological disaster, you just have to a: be cool about having the occasional non-grass plant in the mix and b: be willing to live in a climate that supports grass without irrigation.

Golf courses in California are an abomination which is why the sport was in fact invented in Scotland.

I always thought that golf as a sport should be adapted to the local native landscape. I think this will encourage regional pride when local golfers completely trounce visitors at Swamp Golf, Desert Golf, Forest Golf, etc. Rich tourists will be pressured to travel extensively to experience all forms of golf, instead of staying in their backyard country club golf courses. Internet discourse will probably somehow get worse but I think this is a small price to pay.

Sometimes I think about the time I was really upset so I went out and walked 13 miles then went home and went to sleep and I really think I could’ve made it as a persistence predator back in the day

Looked up how long walking 13 miles usually takes and the internet says 3-4 hours, it probably took about 4 hours in my case, not the most I’ve walked through, that would go to an event where goats and chickens broke out in a field, me and a few others ran them all down and caught all the escaped animals but when I checked my watch at the end of the day I walked around 16 miles, my legs were killing me the next day but I’m not used to running like I did in that field

The chickens were actually mine, my rooster broke through the plywood on his pen (he was a big rooster) and they all ran out, the goats also broke their pen but we rigged them some new ones afterwards and they didn’t break out the rest of the day
