Donald Trump desperately trying to initiate the Red Scare 2 but no one giving a fuck is hilarious to me. The GOP has already villainized and fearmongered about immigrants, transgender people, DEI hires, ANTIFA, etc. and introducing a new supervillain hiding amongst us just isn’t working. I wish there was a communism WAS the greatest threat to America.

My great aunt died yesterday (rest in peace to my beautiful auntie, she was an angel on earth. Truly one of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. A genuine Christian soul, made the best sweet tea. She had a long battle with Parkinson’s and she wasn’t there at the end, we’d known it was coming and we’d known she was suffering so her death was more of a relief than a sudden shock, though that doesn’t negate the grief.) and I got the news about an hour and a half after I took my nighttime 10 mg gummy. I called my dad because I knew he was close to her, she was his only non-hateful aunt and she loved him so much. My dad proceeded to try to get me to watch AI Star Wars slop and kept trying to bicker with me about pop culture and I kept trying to steer the direction to his grief and I think he could tell I was stoned because he kept fucking with me. At one point he told me I was not an easy child and I gently reminded him that he was arrested for underage drinking, flipped a car as a teenager and was likened to a bull in a china shop by all who knew him as a child, child me was not an angel but I was certainly less stressful than him. Anyway. Fucked up conversation. If my great aunt was alive and not sick and had witnessed that, I can imagine the silent guilt-tripping expression of disappointment she would have given him, a vital tool to all demure southern church ladies.

I love when people try to gotcha me on my stance that all sports should be gender integrated with "even American football???" because I can instantly come back with "oh lmao, no, I don't think ANYONE should play American football at all, it's way too dangerous" like nice try but I know no amount of testosterone is going to protect you from the profound, life ruining health issues caused by getting repeated severe concussions over the course of several years. No one should play this sport.

Like do you really think muscle mass or gender/sex can protect you from CTE?? You think men are naturally more resistant to concussions?? Because idk how else you square this sport being too dangerous for cis women and people afab but perfectly safe for cis men and people amab. Having a testosterone dominant endocrine system isn't gonna do shit in the face of traumatic brain injury. Be serious. This sport should not exist.
