the main is that according to guanyin the journey itself and teachings of xuanzang are supposed to teach wukong a few things and make him better but. BUT. what did he learn? you try to do good and you get punished. you tell the truth and you’re called a liar and then get punished. you are treated worse than your so called ‘brothers’ who only ever get a verbal lashing.

why? because you’re a not a human and never was, you’re not a celestial and never was, you’re a demon and demons just don’t matter (guanyin straight up told this wukong to his face, what a nice lady)

like alfred was a shitty dad FIRST? am i the only person who remembers how alfred used to just abandon bruce and leave him when he didn’t agree with him? and he sat somewhere waiting for bruce to realize that alfred was right and bruce can’t do shit without him? and he’d crawl to alfred and beg for forgiveness and tell him “you were right”? spoiler: it never happened. alfred sat and sat and waited and waited while bruce did his thing WITHOUT any help and just carried on with his life and then alfred just would come back and no word was spoken about it?

it’s bruce’s reaction to it all. no ill will towards her, no resentment, no bad blood between them, nothing towards clark even. it’s just a mix of sadness and acceptance all wrapped up in a fragile hope that lois can find her happiness. like he’s used to it. allowed himself to believe for a moment only to realize yet again that he can’t have nice things for some reason

as much as i hate that fitzjames took active part in the carnival, i hate how the fandom treats this scene as a whole.

as much as i enjoy the idea of fitzjames wearing this dress (or that bright red one right behind him on the rack in the background), this scene is not about his gender-fluid awakening.

at this point he’s stressed and tired beyond belief because all responsibilities has been on his shoulders alone for three weeks with an additional strain of masking crozier’s amazing trip to soberiety. he happened on this dress by pure chance. he took it. he didn’t caress it with longing like everyone likes to write. he allowed himself to remember a moment from his youth when he wore a dress in good humor and had fun. when everything was simple and nothing hurt. there’s a brief moment when he looks in the mirror and smiles in self-deprecation. he discards the dress aside without a second thought because he doesn’t have time for trips down the memory lane (and can’t afford to allow himself any).
