Hi, love. I don’t know if you’ll see this, because I assume you’re not in this fandom, but I’m so glad that post helped you.

Honestly, fandom has been life changing for me in terms of realizing that being passionate about “nerdy/childish/weird” things is part of what makes my life really good. And I think the older you get, the less you actually care about what other people think.

I spent way too many years twisting myself into someone I wasn’t in order to fit in or be liked. I’m more “me” in my 50s than I’ve ever been.

People in their teens, twenties, even thirties, so often have no real concept of how freeing it is to just be who you are. I know I didn’t. I was always trying to be acceptable and palatable for everyone else.

Life is too short. Indulge in your passions and hyper-fixations. Fun isn’t only for young people. And who says “young” ends at twenty-five? My life has gotten exponentially better as I’ve aged.
