It's the way he closes his eyes before holding them, clearly being hurt by all that is happening, but resolving himself that he has to do what's needed for their sake. Even if he's hurt himself, even if he's the one being left or the one leaving, he holds them like he's keeping them from falling apart. Like he reassures them, comforts them, but also dares to take with him a last little something from them.

Ragatha: romance especially in fantasy or historical settings because she likes the idea of someone accepting all of you and going for that happily ever after even if it’s not realistic

Zooble: mysteries and psychological thrillers even tho they usually guess the ending because sometimes they like to see someone else going through a crisis but also appreciates the music, scenery, fashion etc of those films

Gangle: musicals & “kid” & anime movies because she likes that they focus on a bigger message and appreciates the art and music for them, though I think she would be down to watch almost any genre if the plot was interesting enough

Jax: see, now I think he would choose horror to get a reaction out of the others and because they think he’d choose that anyways, but I do think he would actually want to choose a superhero or adventure movie because he likes a good story & seeing someone get past their obstacles

Kinger: a biopic or sci fi movie, though if he’s himself enough, I’d feel he’d point out factually incorrect stuff but it’s because he likes learning about others and the world around him (tho he’d also be very invested in any of the other genres the gang would watch)
