Top 10 Banana Fish fanfics
So after I saw a few people asking about Banana Fish/Asheiji fanfics, I’ve decided to make a little fic rec post with my favorite fics.
Just so we are clear: They are my personal favorites, so if you can’t find someone on the list, it’s not because they aren’t worthy. There are no bad writers in any fandom!
It’s probably because I haven’t head of the fic yet or it’s in my current bookmarks. If you have recommendations for me, I’m open to almost everything.

This was one of the first Banana Fish fic’s I’ve read. It was so beautifully written and the slight angst with a lot of pining had me in pain but also grasping for more.

Ash is a fiery ball of anger amidst the flares of pain, too stubborn to fall victim to it. Eiji pulls it away like he so often did when only emotions crossed their soulbond, replaces it instead with comfort and warmth and all the things, he’s suspecting now, that Ash never had the chance to feel before.
Despite not being finished it’s one of my favorite fic’s. The dialoges are very well written and thought out. I also enjoyed Ash and Eiji’s banter a lot.

Another pining fic that I really loved. It takes Ash and Eiji a while until they realize what they mean to each other and who is better to help them figure it out, than their next door neighbour?

Fake dating! What else is there to say and love? The smut was pretty good as well, but it really had the Banana Fish feeling, with gangs and night Clubs.

Yut Lung grew up as a pawn in the Lee family. Determined to topple his brothers and grasp a new role for himself, he is accustomed to playing every person he knows. When he is warned about Golzine’s intentions to inject Shorter with Banana Fish, he chooses to free Shorter instead, and then finds himself in a new game, one he may not know the rules to.
After finishing this fic, I wanted it to be the ending of Banana fish. It baffeled me that Yut Lung’s support could have changed the whole ending so much. The characterization of Yut Lung was also spot on and it has slight side WongLung.

There’s nothing really normal about Ash and Eiji’s relationship, but they figure it out anyway.
This was so fluffy but also hot in a really good way. Probably the best making out scene I’ve ever read in a fanfic and it has great characterization. Enough said!

Eiji occupies himself while waiting for Ash to get home, only to be drug out on the street for a last minute meetup with one of the other gang leaders without the chance to take out the object he’d been using to pleasure himself. Forgetting about the remote, he rushed out with Ash. Little does Eiji know, Ash isn’t the dumb blonde he looks and pocketed the remote with the intent to have a little fun with the Japanese boy.
I have to admit I loved the smut in this one. Their first time together was so sweet and the way they admitted how long they’ve wanted each other was mixed with so much longing, it was Beautiful!

This one has a special place in my heart. It really describes Asheiji’s soulbound and that they would find each other in every world. It shows that soulmates are never truly apart, because fate brings them together in whatever time or world they are. I can’t wait until it’s finished!
