My hope was not having Johnny, a more regular person, going in the recruiting process would make people more willing to work with us, but now we are 24 rejections inand my bull-headed friend is starting to lose hope. "What if we just worked as a duo? I'm the brawn; you're the brain, and together we make a perfect team." His logic wasn't completely unsound, but my answer was still no for one big reason: "Two people is not a team." He tilted his head as his usually boisterous voice became confused. "But I saw this video online of two young superheroes working together." His words traveled straight to my brain and caused excitement to rummage inside of me. I then asked in complete excitement, "In this city?" He then picked on my excitement, realizing why I was so happy. "Yeah, they make great recruits; their names are Wild Spark and Evergreen." For the first time in 3 weeks I let myself smile, truly smile. "Well, in that case we have some research to do." Well, it took a few days, but I was able to get some good info on our two heroes: Wild Sparkspark has electrical powers that he can shape and cover himself with, but he cannot shoot them out without hurting other people. He is also very good at public speaking and being easily likeable. Hopefully I'll be able to ask him to help him with that. The other one, Evergreen, is shy and quieter but has amazing powers of his own; he is able to control plant life, and most importantly, he's creative, turning a leaf into a flyable skateboard. I was also able to find out where they would be, so I grabbed Johnny and my costume, and went out to hopefully get some new teammates. The dark alley did in fact have both of the two heroes were looking for as well as two other boys our age in hero costumes, one of whom I recognized as one of the more angry rejections we got during our look for teammates. The other being the leader of the team I lost the blonde girl to. The follower of the two then yelled out a question with great anger: "What are you doing here?" "We are here to offer both of them hero contracts," I said, pointing to the two yet unclaimed heroes. One of whom, Wild Spark, jumped out excitedly, saying, "Wow, two offers in one day! This is amazing." The entire time his eyes were directed exclusively at Evergreen, the follower then became even angrier, snapping out, "Yeah, the only difference is we're a real superhero team, and she licks people." I was about to defend myself when the angry boy's leader jumped in. "Hey, there's no need to fight; we can just share. We'll take Wild Spark, and you get the other one." The secondary laughed out loud, his eyes still angry. "Bullboy, lizard freak, and flower power sound perfect. " That last word was said with so much sarcasm that even I could pick up on it. My eye is turned from the boys in front of me to the cowering evergreen. "I would prefer both you and your friend; I'll be happy to take just you, given how much potential you have." The two boys from the Stella Force hero gang then laughed at me with great malice, or at least that's what Johnny said they did, but they weren't laughing long as Rocky walked forward. The two then put their hands out, offering him a place among them, but he did not take their hands; he took their arms and then shot electricity through them, jolting both of them back with great deals of pain. He then walked over to Evergreen, bolstering a ginormous smile. "You know, I'm really liking these guys," he said, pointing towards me and Johnny. This is when his green-wearing companion finally spoke up, saying, "Honestly, me too; they seem cool." With a wagging tail and a happy face, I handed both of them their hero contracts, mentally noting that I only had one more teammate to find.
