What to Know About #BlackOutTuesday and Its Backlash

Many people woke up on Tuesday to a timeline of black photos—mostly on Instagram— with the hashtag #BlackoutTuesday and probably wondered what was going on. What started as a form of activism by major players in the music industry turned into a movement across social media against police brutality in America.
