Never felt better about Buddie going canon. We were FED with content last night.

This is dicey to say but I’ll say it: I think that one of the reasons it was so good and is landing so well with fans — one out of many reasons — is because it felt very much from Eddie’s POV. Has there been energy from both Buck and Eddie in the past that make you root for them? Yes of course but a LOT of the more overtly romantic beats were when Buck was doing a lot of heavy lifting.

I felt like I was watching Eddie fall for Buck here. Yea Buck has some wonderful moments — willing to die for Eddie and Chris — but story and their connection was really moved forward by Eddie. The romantic beats were his to carry, and Buck was pretty idle. He got to just be Buck, and we got to watch Eddie admire that, love that, and fight for that person.

It’s actually what I wanted from the lightning strike arc and never really got. Which is fine, because this is way better.

People will come for me over this take but I stand by it.

Eddie was not the center of Buck’s story lmao; his abandonment issues were. That’d be like saying his story was about Tommy.

The abandonment issue that flared up because Eddie left. I know Eddie isn't the cause of the issues itself, but they came back because he left and that resulted in Buck only talking about Eddie, so for this episode Eddie was the center of Buck's focus. And I'm not saying that Tommy wasn't the center of the issue too. After the Break up Buck was also a mess, because he was stressbaking and constantly thinking of Tommy, but he got past that.

do love that at zero point did tommy suggest buck was in love with eddie. just that there was something there. feelings. that made him consider eddie the competition. and then buck is very loudly and angrily like. so that means i'm IN LOVE with eddie? and then again. Ok so I was debating to make this post, but I just kept analysing the discussion Tommy and Buck had and the writing is crazy!!

It reminded me of a Shadowhunters scene with Alec and Magnus, where Magnus got jealous over some guy Alec had spent a lot of time with and told about his problems at the time (the guy was gay btw.). Do you know what Alec's face was after Magnus questioned him if he thought the guy was handsome?

It looked like this. He was actually happy Magnus got jealous (because it showed he loved Alec) and thought it was funny, because Alec would never look at another man, because he was secure in his feelings for Magnus. He also reassured Magnus that he might have thought the guy is handsome, but he wouldn't talk about his problems with the guy anymore if it bothered Magnus.

Do you know how Buck looked like after Tommy got jealous?

Not happy that Tommy was jealous. He didn't validate his feelings by saying him and Eddie are close but there is nothing Tommy needs to worry about, because he doesn't love Eddie. Instead he got defensive and mean. To Maddie he was so quick to say he isn't in love with Eddie, so why not say it to Tommy, who needs to hear it the most?

If my partner came to me with this concern I would do anything to reassure them about my feelings. I'm not saying it's not possible for 911 to throw a curveball, but this lines were a choice someone in the writing room made.
