I am a lesbian, and I have known I was a lesbian since middleschool, and since that time I have been openly out to my friends and my family, but I realize that I never really tell people that I am a lesbian. I can proudly tell people that I am a girl that is attracted to women, I can talk about my crushes openly, but I struggle to say outloud that I am a lesbian.

That's silly, right? Lesbian is a word, yet I feel afraid to admit I am one, even though I am proud of my sexuality and identity.

Lesbian is not a dirty word. It's not a sexual word. It's not inappropriate, gross, or something to be afraid of, it's a word.

I want to show my pride for myself and my sexuality more, and spend more time celebrating pride month along with all my other friends who are apart of this beautiful community, because we all deserve sunshine, and we all deserve to be loved and to love ourselves just like anybody else. 🫶
