Hello everyone, Lady Minx here. It's nice to meet you, friend.

As a person who has been an avid fan of games for many years, my goal through this blog is to share information pertaining to any games in the Legend of Zelda franchise. This includes interesting locations, music facts, or just small details included by the creators that may have been missed.

Feel free to submit questions or facts to me and I'll try to include those topics in my future posts! I'll also take questions about myself (to some extent). I am mostly knowledgable when it comes to Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom and Skyward Sword, however, I would love to be introduced to other Zelda games as well.

Without further ado, welcome to my world of the Legend of Zelda.

There are countless locations in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that contain references to previous games in the Legend of Zelda franchise. Some places are directly named after past areas (like Kakariko Village or Hyrule Castle), but others contain similar names to older characters or items.

Here are some examples:

Breach of Demise This area is a reference to Skyward Sword. It is named after the Demon King and final boss of the game. Demise appears a little ways left of Hyrule Castle in Breath of the Wild.

Breman Peak This is a reference to an obtainable mask from Majora's Mask, the Breman Mask. It allows for Link to summon animals near him to march behind him by ways of the Breman March song. In Breath of the WIld, Breman Peak is located in East Necluda.

Linebeck Island A tribute to the best sailor in the Legend of Zelda franchise! This serves as a reference to both Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks in which Captain Linebeck sailed the SS Linebeck steamboat and eventually settled in Hyrule with his family. Linebeck can be seen in Breath of the Wild in the collection of islands below Lanayru Tower.

(NOTE: the only reason why I consider this a theory is because there has been no confirmation or denial of it's existence by the developers as far as I searched, but let me know if you've anything different!)

Usually, after leaving the Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom, Link makes his way toward Lookout Landing and talks to Purah, who gives him a rundown of what happened in Hyrule while he was away. It is here that the player is supposedly first introduced to Zelda acting "strange" when she disappears from Hyrule Castle. After this point, most players would start heading to one of the four main villages to investigate the Regional Phenomenon. However, an interesting thing happens if you skip Purah entirely and head directly to the towns after leaving the island---an unavoidable panic blood moon occurs.

The most popular hypothesis for why this happens is because the game needs to familiarize Link with the concept of Zelda acting strange in order for the any of the dungeon quests to make sense--as implied in the first blood moon cutscene. The way Zelda is staring into the blood moon is not very goddess-like in the first place (although we can't see her face), but paired along with the fact that this fake Zelda disappears from the cutscene later on in the game, this definitely supports the thought of her "acting strange" to new players.

Since each of the Regional Phenomena questlines include cutscenes/information about Zelda doing odd things, some fans believe Nintendo introduces a blood moon before Link enters the towns as a way to bring it to the attention of Link before he begins any of these quests in order for the storyline to remain consistent.

If Purah introduces Link to this idea "strange Zelda behavior" at Lookout Landing after he talks to Harth at the castle, the blood moon is not triggered. However, when Link goes straight to a Regional Phenomena town, blood moon triggered!

Some do argue that this might just be the game not being prepared to load in all the assets of each village so soon or something similar---another scenario like this was known to happen in Breath of the Wild where, after overloading the game to a certain point, it would spawn in a panic blood moon in order to reset.

In Tears of the Kingdom, there exists a piece of land called Shrine Island. It can be found in the Lanayru Wetlands just outside Kakariko Village.

On this island, you can find a chest that contains one Reinforced Lizal Shield.

There is no shrine on Shrine Island...

If you look at the four shrines on the Great Plateau in Breath of the Wild, you can find a cool easter egg hidden within! The hand placement and positions of monks Oman Au, Ja Baij, Keh Namut, and Owa Daim can be lined up together to reveal a hidden triforce.

Oman Au (the creator of the Mangesis trial) holds the top triangle, that which represents strength and divine power.

Ja Baij (the creator of the Bomb trial) forms the triangle on the bottom right, which represents bravery and courage.

Keh Namut (the creator of the Cryonis trial) builds the bottom left triangle, which represents wisdom and knowledge.

Finally, Owa Daim (the monk of the Stasis trial) creates the inner triangle, which is empty space in the center of the original triforce.

Together, all four monks form the triforce---the ultimate symbol of The Legend of Zelda! Take a look here as well to see it more clearly:

Imagine my surprise when I found a copy of Link's Crossbow Training hiding in the stack of CDs!

I told my dad about it and he admitted that he loved to play that game when it first came out. He actually got me a set of nunchucks to play with since we lost the old ones. I saw him playing the other night and even though the graphics and audio quality aren't the best, it still looks really fun!

Safe to say that I might be sharing some Link's Crossbow Training easter eggs/facts if I get to playing it soon!

In Tears of the Kingdom, finding lightroots can sometimes be a pain, especially if Link is just walking around the Depths trying to spot them randomly.

One surefire way to find a lightroot is to find it's "sister shrine" first.

If there is a shrine on the land of Hyrule (sky islands don't count), simply switch to the Depths map and mark that same spot; there will always a lightroot directly beneath any land shrines.

Interestingly enough, the names of any given lightroot is the same as it's sister shrine, but written backwards. For example, in Central Hyrule there exists the Jiosin Shrine. Beneath it is the Nisoij Lightroot.

Though Link only requires 441 Korok seeds in the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to fully expand his inventory, there are 900 total scattered across the map to be collected. Most fall into similar categories, however, there are a few especially unique and creative puzzles to solve.

BRIDGE OF HYLIA Link must climb below bridge to the ledge with the first set of windows. There, perched on it's side, lays a tree branch. Pick it up to receive the seed.

SALARI PLAINS Link must be utop a horse (or the Master Cycle Zero) and jump over the three fences one after another to unlock the Korok. There is only one other puzzle like this, located near the Dueling Peaks. This is a small reference to Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, in which Link could use Epona to jump over fences for either minigames or to just cross the overworld.

HYRULE CASTLE While there are a number of Korok seeds just within the castle, this one is a little interesting. Simply drop a bird's egg into the little puddle of water in front of the empty statue. This will complete the puzzle, and also reward you with the creation of a Hard-Boiled Egg (which can only be created by letting a regular egg rest in spring waters found in places in Eldin and Hyrule Castle). On my first playthrough, this was how I actually discovered that Hard-Boiled eggs were a thing. Quite an interesting mechanic!

In the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are a total of 228 unique recipes that can be created in game. Some dishes can be made wit different combinations of ingredients while others are very specific.

Sometimes, a mixture of ingredients does not work together (cominations like only seasonings, random insects, or monster extract) and will result in Dubious Food. Dubious food usually a few hearts only and has it's own unique eating animation.

Dubious food can be brought to Moza at Rikoka Hills Well in Tears of the Kingdom (located slightly outside Kakariko Village) where she will turn it into Monster Stew for 10 rupees.

There is only one other dish that can rival Dubious Food, known as Rock-Hard Food. This can be created by cooking wood bundles and/or precious gemstones together. It recovers minimal health (usually a quarter heart) and also has it's own unique eating animation.

While there is no apparent benefit to creating or consuming Dubious Food, players who are looking to complete the Master Sword Trials in Breath of the Wild can utilize this dish by cutting down the trees in the "rest rooms", cooking the wood bundles from these one at a time, and gaining back some health by eating all their Rock-Hard foods. This is a useful tactic for those who make take a lot of damage in combat or just want an extra health buffer during the Trials.

(I could only find a video with the animation of Rock-Hard food. Experiment in game to see the one for Dubious Food yourself!)

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there is a very small easter egg related to Link when he cooks.

In Breath of the Wild, Link would hum a simple unrecognizable song whenever watching his food cook in a pot. In Tears of the Kingdom, however, there is a wide variety of songs that he hums---all titles from Zelda games! If you listen closely, you may hear:

- Zelda's Lullaby - Legend of Zelda Main Theme - Epona's Theme - Champion's Ballad - Lost Woods Theme - More!

These are some of the best videos I've found which have most of his songs. There may be some missing, but pay attention next time you cook and don't skip the cutscene!

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there exists three dragons.

Naydra is the dragon of ice and can be found in Lanayru. Dinraal is the dragon of fire and can be found in Eldin. Finally, Farosh is the dragon of electricity and can be found in various areas spanning from the Gerudo Highlands all the way over to Faron.

There are four types of dragon parts that can be obtained as items in Link's inventory. Each dragon has their own type of scale, claw, fang shard, and horn shard. These can either be added to dishes to increase their effect or sold at high prices.

One thing to note is that any dish containing a dragon part will always have a bonus effect, however, a dish can never have a bonus effect if there is Monster Extract present (even with a dragon part).

Prices for each dragon part (does not vary by dragon): - Dragon Scale: 150 rupees per (60 mon) - Dragon Claw: 180 rupees per (80 mon) - Shard of a Dragon Fang: 250 rupees per (110 mon) - Shard of a Dragon Horn: 300 rupees per (150 mon)

The player can get a dragon part by shooting a dragon with an arrow. The body gives a scale, the talons give a claw, the mouth gives a fang and the horns give a horn. Link can get only one part from each dragon per cycle. An easy solution to this is by sitting next to a fire until the next day.

There are many maps of the dragon paths, but one of the most interesting ways to track the dragons is through their item drop zones. Nintendo specifically coded different locations in which dragon parts will always drop after being shot. It's purpose was assumed to be so that no matter which way Link shoots, the parts could always be collected afterwards. This allows for a nice way to set travel points using the Travel Medallion, or a quick way to check the flight path of the dragons. In the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there are different bonuses that can be added to regular bows. One of those is the multishot capability, which allows one arrow to be used up from Link's inventory, but multiple to be shot at the same time.

This is especially useful in combat against higher level enemies, such as minibosses or lynels. One downside is that once the arrow is shot, it cannot be recollected (even if it hits a tree or the ground). There are a few types of bows that always have a multishot capability:

Duplex Bow (shoots 2 arrows at once)

Great Falcon Bow (shoots 3 arrows at once)

Forest Dweller's Bow (shoots 3 arrows at once)

Lynel Bows (3-5 arrows at once, depending on the lynel defeated)

There is a fun arrow duplication glitch that makes use of this multishot capability. If Link goes to a source of fire with a multishot bow equipped, he can light his arrow with the flame and shoot it onto a surface such as a tree or the ground. The one arrow from his inventory gets shot into multiple arrows, and these individual arrows will catch fire as well. Since they are lit, they do not despawn and can be collected if Link is fast enough. Please note this only works for regular arrows (not bomb, ice, fire, shock or ancient). An easy place to do this is in Kakariko Village on the fire near the Goddess Statue (shoot the arrows onto the tree in front of it), or the cooking pot in Kara Kara Bazaar. In the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are as many as 407 NPCs that can be found throughout the overworld. Each one has unique dialogue, interactions and relations with Link.

Some of these NPCs are travelers and merchants. They wander around the map, selling their goods to Link when he comes across them. Below is a chart containing their names, goods, costs, and possible locations. Thank you @aikoiya for the wonderful map, this belongs to them!

One small note: there is one merchant missing. Meghyn can be found near the Lucky Clover Gazette and Tabantha Great Bridge. She sells Hylian Shrooms, Rushrooms, Razorshrooms, Ironshrooms, Brightcaps, Chillshrooms, and Stamella Shrooms at the regular prices.

Just wondering if anyone on Tumblr knows how to fix this problem I've been seeing with some of my posts... for some reason some of my text is always getting sized wrong and it's really annoying!!

Whenever I make anything small by doing < s >, it works in the draft portion but whenever I save and exit/post, the last few characters of the text will end up big. I've tried fixing the HTML manually, not indenting, but nothing seems to be working. It only also happens for some posts and it's driving me nuts ㅠㅠ

When Nintendo was moving armor from the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to Tears of the Kingdom, they chose not to transfer some over. Here is a list of a few clothes only available in Breath of the Wild:

Gerudo Vai Set Link can buy this set from two places. The first is from inside Gerudo Town for 540 rupees. The second place is from the top of the building in Kara Kara Bazaar for 600 rupees. These clothes allow Link to sneak into Gerudo Town, dressed as a girl. The set is composed of the Gerudo Veil, Gerudo Top, and Gerudo Sirwal.

Well-Worn Set These clothes can be obtained at the very start of the game within the Shrine of Resurrection. Found in the two treasure chests in the second room, Link does not need to buy them. However, if he loses them throughout his journey, they can be bought from Granté for 100 rupees total. The set is composed of the Old Shirt and the Well-Worn Trousers.

Ancient Set This set is composed of guardian parts and provides the Guardian Resist Up set bonus once upgraded twice by the Great Fairies. It can be bought from Cherry in the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. The set is composed of the Ancient Helm, Ancient Cuirass and Ancient Greaves. The cost is no small sum: - Helm: 2,000 rupees + Ancient Gear x20 + Ancient Shaft x5 + Ancient Core x3 - Cuirass: 2,000 rupees + Ancient Screw x20 + Ancient Shaft x5 + Ancient Core x3 - Greaves: 2,000 rupees + Ancient Gear x20 + Ancient Spring x5 + Ancient Core x3

Bonus: Extra Shirts These shirts do not belong in any set, but exist as separate armor pieces. The Warm Doublet can be found in multiple places: - Woodcutter's House on the Great Plateau (while the old man is there) - Mount Hylia on the Great Plateau (while the old man is there) - Woodcutter's House on the Great Plateau (in a chest after completion of Plateau) - Sold in Hateno Village for 80 rupees The Nintendo Shirt is only available through the DLC. It can be found in a chest utop the stone walls surrounding the Ja Baij Shrine.

In the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Kass is a Rito bard who can be found all across Hyrule. He sings and plays the accordion, sharing stories he was taught by his late teacher. Some of these songs are puzzles that, once solved, lead to shrines.

There are a total of 8 shrine quests told by Kass. You can find them in the following places: - "The Serpent's Jaws" in the Pagos Woods - "The Two Rings" on the West Hyrule Plains - "The Crowned Beast" on Rabia Plain - "Sign of the Shadow" at Gerudo Tower - "A Song of Storms" at Calora Lake - "Master of the Wind" at Horon Lagoon - "The Hero's Cache" at Kitano Bay - "Under a Red Moon" at Washa's Bluff

One interesting detail is about the actual themes he plays at each location. When played in the correct order, these songs actually form the main theme of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
