I wonder if the Queen sets the bounty for Lady Whistledown bc Pen announces that she's quitting/taking a break in the same issue that she announces her engagement to Colin, and Queen Charlotte can't have that, bc she views it as Lady Whistedown "winning their game".

i made myself sad thinking about how Colin keeps reiterating that the Featherington's have "no father or male to protect them", is probably bc he keeps thinking back to his 10 year old self seeing Violet so despondent when his dad died and how hard it was for Anthony to suddenly be forced into the role of Viscount, and thinking how hard it must be for them without this safety net. I think Anthony became the family's protection in an external way, while 10 year old Colin became his family's protection in an emotional way, in the way Violet referenced in her scene with him on the staircase. I think Colin stepping in for the Featheringtons in Season 2 was him finally being able to do what he wished he was capable of doing when he was younger, protecting the women he loves in the way he feels like a man should.
