Eric Hedman, Lead Animator on the original The Sims, just dropped a deep dive into the development of the House Party expansion.

It’s a fantastic look at the technical "smoke and mirrors" behind those classic interactive objects. From the mechanical bull and firepits to the cow-themed furniture, Eric explains how they balanced game design with technical limitations to make everything feel fun and compelling.

These are 4to2 conversions from Icemunmun, low poly. They are functional birthday cakes with their own stages and cake slices. Found in Party section of Buy Mode.

A Recreation of the tS1 Makin’ Magic Outhouse

Done at last!

This object was cloned from the Pet Stories portapotty. However, I’ve altered the needs its fulfill to better match the original: using it is not particularily comfortable, and will lower the user’s hygiene. It costs 319$ and can be used on both residential and community lots.

I’ve also made a bunch of recolours. Be warned that these textures are very large (2k).

You may know how sinks get wiped from counters if you put some clutter in their corner slots (usually with moveobjects) and went to Live mode. I fixed that!

Recolors pull textures from the game files and will be affected by Basegame / Free Time magazine texture replacements, if you have any.

*These can be used along TS2 magazine extracted by Keoni - it's a different mesh. I've made new models to keep the polys as low as possible / initially I wanted to make add-ons for Keoni's mesh but it wouldn't work properly so I had to make my own master file :/

I made an invisible chessboard as a new object (not default) so your sims can "pretend" playing multiple games.

It looks like an OMSP with an invisible recolor. The arrows will help you place the two chairs correctly.

First, place it on the ground together with two chairs. After they slide into position, you can place one of the deco board games I converted (or any other deco board you already have in your game) on a table of your choice. Then place the table on the square and voilà! Even the chess pieces will be invisible.

You can find the deco games under Hobby-Miscellaneous. I also converted some of the game boxes. The invisible chessboard can be found in the same category as the original chessboard.

Board games are from Aroundthesims, low poly.
