Arting through Arda # 4

Ever since I first read the Silmarillion and by extension, the varied histories surrounding Middle-Earth as a whole, I often felt that a stylistic approach to as seen by genndy tartakovsky's Samurai Jack, Sym-Bionic Titan, or the Star Wars Micro-series would make for a wonderful way to see middle-Earth realized in animated form.

As with previous armours, this is based off of a sketch found in one of the Hobbit Chronicles books from Weta, but where the Sketch [I'm assuming was made by either Alan Lee or John Howe] is black and white I wanted to try and continue to incorporate colours found within the Lotr Minecraft mod.

Within said mod, the "High Elves" have two armour sets for its faction, one within Lindon Proper, and another armour set with a different colour pallet for Imladris. The one shown above is based off of the colours found in Lindon.

Obviously the armour is still based off of the Weta design, but wanted to give it a different set of colours, within Lord of The Rings Minecraft Mod the Lindon Elves have a more silvery and Bluish appearance, and want to strive for something that a combination of the two. I'll be the first to say I want this to be better- hopefully with time that will be the case lol. In the meantime, figured to also include the original ballpoint sketch which I drew and imported into Krita [with a lowered opacity] beneath which all of the colours were based:

Daily Arda Sketch day 2 - Aragon was not spared the Waffle Iron. If Sauron is ever to be drawn... it may be that Sauron may either be a Waffle Iron or a Kettle. But, time will tell!

Made a Gandalf recently, thought "This didn't turn out off bad for being a sketchy thing based off of the Weta Mini Epics, lets try another one. Besides I want to try to make a Krita sketch a day how hard can it be-"

"Aah, yes. Thranduil 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒦𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝑜𝒻 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒲𝑜𝑜𝒹𝓁𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝑅𝑒𝒶𝓁𝓂™ Why yes of course I can make your face appear as if its been wacked by a waffle iron of course your majesty"

I am going to make a middle-earth sketch every day. I will avenge you Thranduil waffle face I will avenge you even if I fail trying. Oh By Eru he looks so awful oh god.

Hey look- a sketch dump! Haha,

Things have been quite busy as of late- and although I do not have access to my digital tablet most of the day, I do have access to a sketch book and pens a bit more often- hence the sketches seen above.

I should emphasize these are study drawings of pictures/art created from either an already created figurine or drawing. I am not the original artist [albeit, I'm huge fans of the respective artists/studios which produced the originals] and attempting to draw for practice.

Not Samwise- instead just a Pippin. Unfortunately there was a puppy which insisted drawing time cease and demanded pets instead.

There is “Far-a-mir” and then there is “Potato-you-are-a-mir”. Or... somthing like that. Unsure about the time spent on this one but needless to say, it is a potato lol. Perhaps the next post will be Samwise to continue this potato-quality of drawing trends.

Suffice is to say, happy to have some more definitive lines, still working from a single sketch layer and drawing (mostly) without picking up the stylus too much. In any event- take care! Cheers.
