most annoying take ive been seeing about deltarune chapter 5 is people asking why ralsei was so mean to orange because she wasnt. the whole joke with orange is that shes the kind of kid who starts fights and then genuinely believes shes being unfairly vicitmized when someone bites back. every interaction between them is ralsei unintentionally upsetting orange, orange intentionally saying something mean to ralsei, THEN ralsei saying something mean back, and finally orange running to green or pink to defend her as if she did not start the fight. the idea that ralsei is just bullying orange out of nowhere is how orange (FALSELY) presents it. and thats the joke!!! the joke is that ralsie, who was completely alone prior to chapter 1, which is like 3 days ago btw, has no idea how to deal with a kid like that.

the second its undeniable ralsei is a girl people take her reactions born out of anger at being needled out of context to demonize her. i see how it is.

worth noting that before ralsei has said a word to orange, orange says ralsei should hide her face. i think theres much to be said about susie's reactions to things ralsei says to orange, but if we are tgoing to talk about orange and ralsei's interactions and saying things that, unintentionally or not, hit on insecurities, you really cant ignore that orange picks that fight every time.
