Just like the rest of the cores-turned-humans, Space core is also having a difficult time adjusting to human life—moreso than the others tbh, because Space core is hypersensitive due to being built for space missions. Every signt, smell, sound and other many stimuli from human world confuses Space core's finely calibrated sensores and data analysis algorithm, sometimes so much so that he is too overwhelmed to function properly.
That's where the radio comes in. He isn't listening to any channels, only the soft staticky noise. It reminds him greatly of SPACE, where he floated within the serene darkness with nothing to worry. Whenever he's upset, or overwhelmed by too much stimuli, he listenes to the static to calm himself down.)
ok so glados’s geometry was like a LOT more fucked up than wheatleys, he took like 3 minutes while she took like 2-3 hours. He doesn’t look as good as glados since he’s 80% hull, but I noticed some interesting stuff!!!

What I found interesting is that he doesn’t actually have anything that moves his face plates around! I initially thought maybe these blue things let him attach to the rail AND move his face plates but they don’t actually move.
looking at this pic (from harry101uk, but I’m pretty sure he uses wheatley’s in-game rig) it shows them rigid. There isn’t anything on the back of him that connects to these plates either.
other than that, his eye is controlled by 6 pistons which control in-out motion, and a base that controls the rotation.
bonus addon: the eyeplates (they also weren’t connected to anything, they just clip thru the model)

Battle Roster
When scavenging for resources, many unexpected things can happen. A dangerous encounter with hostile entities is just one of many common occurrences. There are also non-combat situations that requires skillsets from certian cores.
As established before, each Cores have different abilities. There are cores who can hack into doors and computers for hidden pathways or items(Fact, Morality), repair damaged weapons/items(Virgil, Grady), craft special items out of the junks(Intelligence). heal others(Conley, Fact), find hidden enemies or locate hidden loots nearby(Space, Curiosity).
Therefore, it is important to pick the right members for your "battle roster" according to what you're trying to accomplish. If you're going head-on for GLaDOS or Cave Johnson boss battle, then it may be best to pick the ones who can throw some decent punches(Rick? Anger?). If it's just an item farming excursion, then the Cores who has useful skills(Space, Curiosity, Fact etc) would be a good choice.
Or, you can just take whatever Cores you like to see what happenes.
Special Combinations(Party Combo)
If there's some kind of achievement system to this AU, then one of the ways to unlock them is to create a battle roster with 'special' combinations(something like 'party combo' system from Darkest Dungeon).

The Guiding Hands
"They are to provide you guidance through this hellhole, although wether they are actually competent at their job or not is still up to debate"

I have no idea as to what I just wrote down or exactly how this AU(?????) would work out, but it goes something like this:
Aperture is in ruins. You have no idea how it happened, and how you even got stuck here in the first place, but the objective is clear: you need to survive long enough to figure out how to escape. And while you're at it, you are also going on an Easter egg hunt of sort that will provide you with useful companions...
Not only the "Pokècores" are strewn about all over the facility, they are also lot smaller than regular cores so they're quite tricky to spot.
Nevertheless, you decide that it's now your quest to collect as many of them as possible.
Each different "Pokècores" contain different human/cyborg/android/whatever cores in them. Some are commonly found, others are found in more obscure places.
Since each human!cores have different skillsets(e.g. Virgil can repair things and Rick can be a good choice when brawn is needed over brain), collecting different kinds of Pokècores would increase your chance at surviving whatever Aperture is throwing at you.
Perhaps you can even make an 'entry' of sort with the pokècores you collected?
