A little video we all should take a moment to watch and think about.Â
Instead of thinking about what divides us we should think about what we have in commonâŚ
Iâve reblogged this on every account I have.
This is simplistic and intended to tug on heartstrings and all that shit but guys I really needed to see something about people not being dicks so if you needed that too please watch this.
Thanks for this, Denmark.
i think maybe we could all use a little simple heartstring-tugging right about now. <3

What to Expect When Your Partner's Expecting
Here is a list of things you may be asked to do when a partner, friend, or family member is pregnant.
attend prenatal appointments with them
read books on pregnancy
be woken up at night with them moaning every 10 to 20 minutes during the night, being told they think they are in labor and are very tired
labor may begin with a gush of water from the vagina followed immediately by long, painful contractions
They may not accept your suggestions for relaxing or coping
You may get hungry but need to stay with them to help with every contraction
You may be asked if you think they need to go to the hospital
They may make distressing sounds that you have never heard them make
They may become discouraged and express their discouragements in way that may be scary for you
They may cling to you and ask for help
They may vomit or say they need to vomit
They may cry, grimace, and/or tense muscles
They may criticize you or tell you not to do things
THey may need you to press hard on their back with every contraction until your arms ache
They may tell you they need an epidural
Labor can go on for 12, 18, or 24 hours without a baby, so you may become so tired you canât keep your eyes open but they may still need you
You may be told a cesarean or other procedure is necessary
The caregiver may say the babyâs head is starting to come
The baby may slide out, wrinkled, soaking wet, streaked with blood, and crying
You may be asked if you want to cut the cord
The baby may be handed to you to hold
They may turn to you and tell you they may not have been able to do it without you.
One good activity to do with your pregnant person is to have them think of the worse possible things they could say during labor. For example:
I think Iâm going to die
I hate you
Donât touch me
I canât do this anymore
Iâm so tired
I donât think I can do it
It hurts. It hurts so much
Have them say this to you while theyâre not yet in labor. Then you practice listening and offer acceptance and encouragement in return. Something that will redirect your energy towards your goals. For instance
Youâre doing it, just focus on this contraction
Youâre tired, and you can do it. You are doing it.
Itâs really painful. And youâre getting closer to the end. Your baby is going to be here. Breathe.
This is harder than you expected. Youâre doing a great job.
During plateau is when a lot of anxiety can appear for your partner. Here are some things you can do to help:
offer a glass of water with bendy straw
give them encouraging words
do not worry about being âstuckâ and focus on their strength
tell them you love them. A lot. In fact do this all through labor
suggest changing positions or walking around
offer a bite of food, tea with honey, or juice
suggest they go pee, especially if itâs been more than two hours
hold them
tell them to cry or scream to get those emotions out
ask âhow can you rest more between contractions?
suggest a shower or bath
suggest laboring in the bathroom with water running
During contractions moan in a deep voice or come up with a chant to do together
talk to the baby
hold their feet or head
ask the hospital staff for uninterrupted privacy
go through this list again, focusing on the moment
When you are asked to be a part of someoneâs labor, imagine the person in labor and the challenges you may face. Weâve named a few, but there are many more.
What are some experiences youâve had either as someone who has given birth or someone who has attended a birth?
Pregnancy, the first 3 months
Finding out after a satisfying pee:
Throwing up over every smell I used to love:
Pregnancy insomnia:
Fetus wants food when Iâm full, making me sick, then wants more:
My hubby saying âThatâll happenâ when I complain of symptoms:
My stomach painfully stretching to fit this demon:
But then I see a picture of a baby and it feels real:
đŹ
Dear significant others, When your pregnant girlfriend, wife, spouse, hoe down the block tells you that she is sore, that her body aches, do not tell her that yours does too. Weâre not looking to compare battle wounds, weâre looking for a fucking back rub. We understand that youâve been at work all day, and no, we havenât moved from the couch in the past 12hrs other than to pee and eat unnecessary amounts of Doritos, but while you were sitting in your nice comfy desk chair stapling papers, we grew a mother fucking kidney, and that shit takes a lot out of you. We sympathies with you having to be on your feet all day, we really do, so we truly do understand that you may be sore too. But, there is a significant fucking difference in every day soreness and the soreness inflicted upon you when youâre carrying a rapidly growing human inside of you. Do you want to know what itâs like to carry this tiny human inside of us, that is constantly growing, and pushing our organs up and out of the way? It feels like weâre a mother fucking werewolf whoâs bones are cracking and flesh is ripping at the unveiling of a full fucking moon! The shit you see in horror movies, ya that very same painful looking shit, is what it feels like when our beautiful child slams their little body into our sides. So the next time the carrier of your child complains that they are sore, keep your yap shut and rub her back. Sincerely, Every mother fucking pregnant woman breathing

Hello again!
So if you follow me, iâve been offline for a few months (more ghosting, seeing how everyone is getting on - but not posting)
After my BFP in August, and MMC in November, i spent a lot of time getting my head straight, but now iâm back to try again!
Since i posted last - Iâve had a birthday and am now 22, yay! Iâve had a promotion at work and my fiance has had a pay rise and a rise in hours yay!
We are planning our wedding (keep hush hush but weâre running away to Gretna Green in July) which will be booked on Friday - Yay!. And our plan was to begin to ttc after the wedding and I came off my pill a few weeks ago, and im now in my fertile window, so we thought âwhat the heck, lets try from nowâ, as last time it took 7 cycles to get my bfp, so who knows?
Now my due date has passed, i feel some kind of closure on the miscarriage, and although it still hurts so bad sometimes, i feel iâm ready to try again.
Hope youâre all well.
Also - Â a shout out to the parenting community - if youâre ttc/wttc/pregblr/mumblr/dadblr like this/follow me and iâll follow back - would love some new faces
I miss my babies everyday.
Reasons I relate to cats
donât touch me
wait, no, come back, i need snuggles
thatâs enough snuggles
i want to be near you, please donât leave me alone
tch, itâs not like i happen to be in the same room as you all the time because i miss you
âi got wet. this is the worst thing thatâs ever happenedâ
âwhy is this door closed? this door doesnât need to be closedâ
âi need a nap.â âdidnât you just wake up 2 hours ago?â âyes but i could sleep for a weekâ
(hisses)
âi want foodâ
âbut not this foodâ
(wanders around)

Wedding planning
Is exciting! We think we're gonna get married abroad and only take like 3/4 people each and then have a massive party when we get back. It's gonna cost around ÂŁ3000 rather than about ÂŁ6000 and this doesn't even include the honeymoon! Wedding show tickets booked for the 4th March and hopefully get loadstone of info then and then hopefully put a deposit down, for next year! So so excited
Wake up and open your curtains. Your windows too.
Drink some tea or coffee, whatever pleases you. Notice every sip.
Have some fresh fruit and finish breakfast feeling full.
Stand outside and feel the air. Cool or warm, it will make you feel real.
Get some exercise. Yoga to soothe, running to breathe, lifting for strength.
Take care of your body. Have a nice shower and pamper as much as you want afterward.Â
If youâre going to work, remember you have the chance to make anyoneâs day or to ruin it. Act accordingly.Â
Weed out the bad language. Itâs only creating tension in your body and mind. Kind words are infinitely more appreciated.
Take some time each day to improve your mind. Keep reading that great book. Listen to an incredible piece of music. Practice an instrument or a skill. The progress is its own reward.
Pictures will help you remember how wonderful life is. But spend less time on your phone and more time seeing the world face to face.Â
Go to sleep knowing that you have done well. Tomorrow is there with room to become even better.
-Notes to myself on how to become a better person this summer.
