GOSH okay yess sorry this took a while cuz I wanted to make a post with real evidence but here’s the original post

There’s actually way more going on here than I first thought when I was watching 4x21 so instead of an essay just have the screenshots

>parallels in the way they’re introduced

>using death/guilt over death as manipulation

>sam being strong enough/the only one strong enough

>emphasis on having to do unsavory things, to (in lucifer’s eyes) get the job done/do what’s right

>emphasis on justice

>this speaks for itself tbh

I don’t necessarily think this was intended to be canon, but given how lucifer is routinely shown donning a ‘woman in white’ role and mary is the original (+ subtextually implied to be a suitable vessel for him) it makes sense that that plus the routine abuse of mary’s image would overlap at some point.

Also it makes for some delicious angst :3

16 years later sam stumbles out of a basement in the middle of nowhere and sees his mom, and only knows it’s her because of photographs and he’s been hallucinating so much but no it’s her, alive. and he gets in the car with her after days of being tortured and drives who knows how many hours back to the bunker and he keeps looking at the back of her head and thinking about how he once screamed “she’s not my mother, she’s a damn rotting corpse” at his dad (her husband). and then he brings her tea.
