Dr. Kristen Warner and Dr. Kelli Marshall explain why The Good Wife's writers have created the perfect man in Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character.
The fear was real, y'all.
As the film’s characters repeat the same day over and over, I sit on my couch and do the same.

Y’all, I wrote about coming to terms with my “redneck” hometown.
Sneak preview of what’s coming next week from The Outtake!
Submit your own smart, informed, accessible writing on film and television, classical and contemporary.
The Outtake: New Publication on Medium
Don't freak out, but I'm trying something new...
The stunning, newish blog/publishing platform Medium features several "publications" or magazines. See, for example, Matter (a hodgepodge of stuff), The Synapse (on education), Human Parts (stories about being human), and Cuepoint (on music).
But none is devoted exclusively to film and television. This is where THE OUTTAKE comes in.
So many of you have such brilliant and funny and personal things to say about film and TV. But because of sucky writing platforms (I'm looking at you, WordPress and Tumblr), unfamiliarity with how SEO works, and/or a disinterest in promoting your own stuff, the writing doesn't find the audience it should. Also, let's face it, traditional blogging IS dead.
So starting April 1, on THE OUTTAKE, I'd like to try to circulate smart, informed writing on all aspects of film and television, classical and contemporary.
Old, evergreen blog posts lying around? Excerpt of your book (free promotion!)? Awesome conference presentation the masses will enjoy? Send it on! All writing will be directed back to your blog/site.
(While this publication does not pay for pieces, sometimes writers with enough exposure on Medium do get paid. Holla!)
Thanks! (And yes, I'm bonkers.) cc: medium
