i think the eras of [tumblr] are fairly vague but can pretty much be defined as:
2007–2010 [tumblr]; a mostly unused site. boring.
2010–2014 [tumblr]; fourth biggest social media platform in the world. fandom vs hipster. denny's. mostly high school/college aged users. most like modern tiktok.
2014–2018 [tumblr]; yahoo acquisition and dashcon killed new user intake. everything became cringe, the vibe changed drastically. most like modern twitter.
2018–2022 [tumblr]; porn ban happened. roughly half the userbase vanished overnight. suddenly a much more insular community of late-20 somethings. most like modern... google plus?
2022–2026 [tumblr]; present day. wordpress started making rapid changes, the porn ban was relaxed, twitter migration started to some extent. life is happy.
2026–2030 [tumblr]; posts removed in favour of tumblr live, no real moderation (outlawing of machine learning), site becomes almost all pornography and shock videos. most like modern 4chan.
2030– [tumblr]; final act of president jess biden is to take the site offline after the string of assassinations it caused. users migrate to tin can on a string dot gov. most like an episode of seinfeld

One fallacy, I think, of anti piracy arguments is that a lot of them seem to assume that if I'm unable to pirate something I'm going to pay for it instead rather than going "oh! that's a terrible shame" and then quickly forgetting about it
I really hope that the Mario movie is actually fantastic and the only bad part is Chris Pratt so that we can have people on youtube making “The Mario Movie without Mario” edits.
Or maybe redub all of Pratt’s lines with existing Mario voice lines/sounds and leave literally everything else alone.
I think it would be great for Mario to be doing his usual “wahoo!” And “yippee!” And “oh no!” That Charles Martinet has already done for him and still have every other character be like “yeah! I agree! We do need to go find the power star and rescue princess peach!”
