ššµš»ā¤ļø (? Random) Fossil Factsā¤ļøšµš»š
As may or maynātāve been noticed, I havenāt been too active on here for a year or 4.
It would be an error to therefore conclude any of the following:
That I have tottered away to my age-matched peers where I belong. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bahahahaha⦠bless āem - they (my AMPs) are wonderful in myriad layers of ways, but all this - [gestures vaguely] - has always been waaaay outside their radar, and thatās fine. I canāt help it that I chased a Pegacorn down in here where zaniness, intellectual rigor/complexity, cameraderie, and a healthy intolerance for BS all converge. Why would I leave? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That Auntie Fossil hasnāt kept a consistent weather eye (theory š¤£) on yāall, my chosen nieces (and perhaps nephews/NBs of courseš).
That Iām any less proud of my (yes, decidedly odd) very-long-term affiliation with such an honorable, fact-focused yet theory-enraptured, downright⦠yes⦠(Iām sorry, but itās true) grace-filled group of (by far mostly) young people as make up this beleaguered, delightful gaylor/kaylor community.
āAffiliationā? Thatās selling me short: I may not be an OG Kaylor/Gaylor, but, by heaven, Iām pretty close, if only going by longevity!
Tbh, Iāve tread some rocky paths (health, family, etc.) during my sojourn away, and Iām happy to report that whatās not already well is heading in the right direction. Yea!
So⦠why am I here? Itās kind of a dumb reason, but hey like thatās ever factored in lol.
Just now, while I was applying my persnickety genius to the proper placement of lights on my š, I thought of yāall with affection and goodwill.
I was listening to a @taylorswift song, and it hit me that yāall really NEEEED to understand something (which Iāll get to in a second just hang on).
Iām old; this isnāt news. Iāve experienced the ups and downs of familiar ties that bind, decade in and decade out. It can all be a tad grinding, particularly if, to date, anyway, one has not been favored with a #HappilyEverAfter scenario.
Everyone older than 35 knows all this, of course. Lifeās variety, though infinite, does adore a pattern.
For instance, like most cliches, itās a literal, perennial truth that folks tend to return to their hometowns for the holidays. If you live long enough, this time of year inevitably dredges poignant stuff up, good and otherwise.
⦠which brings me, at long last, to why Iām here:
āTis the Damn Seasonā¦
is an utter MASTERPIECE!!!
PS: Set this post as a reminder for a decade or so from now if you donāt think Iām on the level. Hugs and Love and Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year to every last one of you from an old šµš» who thinks youāre all just peachy!!!
