actually iβve done a lot of work on myself since we last spoke and i wanted to tell you to go fuck yourself and that i hope you die
The older i get the more i understand why some people become obsessed with privacy, not because theyβre hiding something, but because being constantly perceived starts to feel spiritually exhausting.
Did you know that soda machines at restaurants and movie theaters spy on you? That most common new cars now record your sexual preferences and send it to the manufacturer (and also data about anyone who also gets in your car, walks by your car, and maybe happens to be within visual range of your car)? That grocery stores are trying to force customers to download an app to scan barcodes on shelves instead of putting up prices, so the app can scan the phone, decide how much that customer should be squeezed for, and adjust the price? That more and more innocent people are being sent to jail for crimes committed hundreds of miles away because an AI facial recognition algorithm spit their faces out and the cops didn't bother to do the most basic of checks?
I am not uptight about privacy because I'm hiding something. I'm uptight about it because the people who dismiss my right to privacy are dangerous to you and me and our families, personally, all the time.
And often, they are assholes, too.
sometimes i think about how my all-girls catholic schoolβs idea of a PE class was to pair two girls up, teach us how to dance tango (one of the most sensual dances) for a whole sem, and have us perform it as an exam with one girl wearing a dress and the other girl wearing a coat and tie and how theyre still completely baffled on why almost half of their students are gay

it is so annoying being so self aware about all my issues like okay what now girl
getting overtaken as a pedestrian: people are seriously so caught up with themselves they canβt get somewhere 30 seconds later
overtaking people: come on girls itβs not a statue garden
crazy how i find myself thinking i've got a handle on it all finally and then i see the ways that other people tangle their lives together so easily and live so easily together with their friends and i feel like that girl at the top of the stairs painting by norman rockwell
i'll always be here
who up downwarding their spiral

if you're viewed as a conventionally attractive woman you're punished bc you need to be knocked down a peg for thinking you had any inherent value and if you're viewed as unattractive you're punished for daring to exist without permission but that's how it is innit there's no winning when the system was designed to make you lose in the first place! π€£
i need to become a better person someone helppppp π©π©π© but donβt suggest anything difficult or uncomfortable
formative years? arenβt they all?
show me a permanent self and i will show you a facade or a corpse
I dont care about matt damon and ben affleck but they gave us Which could mean nothing so they are like rpf patron saints in a way

To my 25 - 35 year olds, you've reached the age where people around you are starting to give up on themselves because they think it's too late. Don't let that energy rub off on you. It's not too late.
I became a tattoo artist at 49.
Married the love of my life at 50.
Got my Class A CDL at 59.
You've got time.
As long as you're breathing, you've got time.
i listened to olivia rodrigo's new song and there is a parallel to vampire in the cure that really intrigued me a lot. the way she sings "i got toxins in my blood stream, you tried hard to suck them out" vs the way she sings "blood sucker" really shows to me how her perception of hurt in romance and relationship changed: during vampire and guts she wrote her hurt coming from people breaking her heart, bitter with resentment and lit up by anger. someone loving her (sucking her blood out) was doing it with selfish and possibly cruel intentions, therefore it hurt. now, in gsil and the cure, she writes her hurt stemming from her blood itself. someone loving her (sucking her blood out) is doing it with kind intentions, but it still hurts. with that, she really shows how no matter how good or bad someone is to you, you simply hurt when you hurt. maybe i'm over-interpreting this, but i really like thinking of it like that
