This has been my main argument against "AI" from the very beginning.

OpenAI scraped the entire web. All of which had been a labor of love from humans. Wikipedia is the backbone of a lot of LLMs, and that was volunteer human labor. They stole it and now they're selling it back to us.

And worse, they're trying to destroy the free sources that they stole from. It's destruction of human knowledge on an unprecedented scale. The burning of the library of Alexandria has nothing on this.

biking home from work just now I’m passing a pond in Central Park and some sort of massive bug hits me smack in the face but I never see what it is and then all I can think to myself is “wow that was horrifying” anyway horror isn’t done

I make it home to my building’s lobby only to realize the massive bug is ALIVE and trapped IN MY HAIR

turned out to be a dragonfly but!!! I was filled with horror thinking it was a bee or something cause I couldn’t see what it was all I could hear was it buzzing

and i passed a woman who had her hands covering her mouth and nose and she looked extremely uncomfortable so I stopped the bike and screamed at her from a half block away “do you want a mask” and she came and took one which was a relief to me because if I’d read that wrong and she wasn’t uncomfortable in the smoke i was just some woman on a bike screaming at her anyway this is just life with an anxiety disorder im always scared that being helpful is going to come off weird
