Annoying thing that has happened TWICE: someone talking about a trans TADC character in a way that is indistinguishable from misgendering them, and when I correct the person someone else goes "erm actually on bluesky Goosworks said the character was fine with those pronouns". And the worst part is I don't even know who the annoying one is; is it the first person for using pronouns that look exactly like misgendering, me for correcting someone while being wrong, or Goose for giving characters secret pronouns that the content of the actual show never indicated would be their preferred pronouns? It's probably me but I'm angy so I'll pretend it's the other two... or at least the first one.
Ribbit is also said outside of the show to use she/they lol, the "secret pronouns" thing is accurate
tadc fans really are not worth arguing pronouns with because they've got so many "um actually"'s and gotcha's, like refering to transitioned Jax as "he" cuz Goose uses it for closeted jax
on top of that, at least the tumblr post where Goose says zooble is "pretty alright" with all pronouns can only be accessed through the wayback machine 💀 (edit: realised later this is cuz goose's account is gone)

Personally I really hate it, I pronounce everything wrong in my head (and then out loud too) and I'm wondering how common it is to feel this way for others

I make small mistakes all the time but I've gotten good at guessing over time. I still remember my friends confusion when I pronounced "Illinois" like it was a French word, though.
I learnt from my native language that words just are not pronounced how you read them. One that threw me for a loop long ago was the city "Kristianstad" which we pronounce like "Kri-hh-ansta."
Doesn't drive me crazy, but I don't mind having an accent.

I think it could be easily argued that he's canonically autistic but I haven't finished the anime/manga yet & can't say with 100% certainty.
But Tani:
- Is blunt, states his opinions clearly, doesn't tell white lies. He's more likely to omit things than to lie. Though he will be like "I'm fine", "it's nothing" if he's embarrassed or so. He also doesn't read between the lines and it takes him time to realize when others are implying something. This combo often catches people off-guard.
Monologue from him: "Up until now, I went through life taking things people said to me literally, completely missing everything under the surface. It didn't matter to me if my intentions were conveyed properly through my words*. I never gave it a second thought. Expressing my thoughts verbally and understanding others hoping to do the same is difficult to figure out. I can't help but worry that there's still a lot I'm missing."
*As in word choices where "You can go, there isn't much for you to do in the library" SOUNDS like he's trying to convince someone to leave the library when that's not how he meant to come across.
- Has some extent of flat effect; Monotone, no obvious expressions most of the time, especially in contrast to his peers.
- After going to the cinema, he recalled the names of characters and locations in the movie perfectly, but the metaphors and abstract/emotional stuff went over his head. His girlfriend points out these little details and the meaning of them, and he goes "oh, so that's what those meant", implying he noticed the details but didn't connect them to the whole emotional picture. An example of a different thought process and memory.
- Wears the same things often. While his girlfriend dresses up for their dates, he shows up in something that looks exactly like his school uniform. Not because he doesn't care enough to dress up but because it's his default (he probably would dress "nicer" if it was asked of him). It's also pointed out that he looks exactly like he did in middle school, save for a new pair of glasses.
- He works at the school library which is a nice job for autists. The room is quiet most of the time, he probably gets to deal with systems, data, sorting media, research.
- And finally, he also has a cat that he loves and cats are always labeled as autistic lol.
we're watching this again (cuz our default pirate website was nuked and executive dysfunction kicked in until like 2-3 months passed) and I went on this blog specifically to check if my autism headcanon for his gf had been posted

Sometimes, you start watching an anime and then out of nowhere, BAM! Bewbs in your face
Click below the cut to see my take. Yes, me and Shippit have watched every single one, though we didn't finish all of them;
The first one out is Tales Of Wedding Rings. How utterly boring. Questionable animation, a boring plot, lackluster combat and a protagonist so unmotivated to make any progress with his relationships that I genuinely fell asleep during one of the conversations because its so shite. Straight in the bin.
Next one is Yuuna And The Haunted Hot springs because I sorta just trailed off halfway through and lost interest. I do enjoy most of the characters and find them funny, but like with Tales Of Wedding Rings, bewbs didn't save it. So nah, not for me.
Monster Musume is close because the girls are genuinely nice people who give the whole show a wholesome vibe, which I like quite a lot. The protagonist genuinely being unconditionally nice to them is a nice bonus too. Miia is best girl.
But Harem Labryithtiythth stupid ass word is gonna eeeeever so slightly gonna edge past it. The protagonist is a goddamn genius. He finds himself in this new world and immediately establishes himself very well. No skill is left unlearned. He leaves nothing to chance. If he has a chance to gain more power, he will, unlike some people (Subaru). Yeah, you can enjoy him bangin' his new wife, but you can also just watch him work his way through the logistics of the new world. Its genuinely not bad. Would recommend.
Hey I finally get another use out of watching these while being utterly uninterested in ecchi. Have four cluttered reviews I did not proofread.
Tales of wedding rings: Incredibly uninteresting, slow-paced. Cannot give a truly fair rating because I was either asleep or splitting half my attention to something else during several segments, which should in itself tell you about the anime. It's a harem with the basis of women being desperate for and subservient to men, literally by strengthening him through kisses. Several bad things in a bad package with a shit premise. 5/10 for fulfilling its purpose and because I cannot in good faith rate it lower as I did not pay attention.
Monster Musume: At least it's somewhat funny. Enough worldbuilding for the premise to work, an entertaining cast, a protagonist who isn't completely incompetent. This was one of (or maybe *the*?) first ecchi anime we watched, so the tail-wanking scene is unfortunately burned into my brain as my first memory of literally going "oh whoops it's a porno". We had to put off watching it for another few months or something because the first five minutes deeply unsettled something unknown within me. Passes the Bechdel test. 5/10.
Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World: One major problem is that this is not a harem as promised by the title and cover. It's monogamous for most episodes, introduces a second girl after that, and then the rest of the girls are haphazardly shoved into five minutes of screen time in order to do a gangbang scene that I enjoyed by muting and switching tabs. It's problematic, both underage and master/slave relationships, but most ecchi are problematic so that's hardly remarkable. I enjoyed the protagonist, he is everything Natsuki Subaru wishes he could be. I could recommend it if you want porn with plot. 7/10. However my score lacks the rating for the sex scenes as the noises of their kissing and shit made the autism goblin in my brain puke a hundred times over.
Yuuna And The Haunted Hot springs: My favourite. Entertaining cast, a protagonist who isn't just a blatant self-insert, ecchi that coexists with plot without forcing boobs into every minute. The girls have individual roles and aren't reduced to 'the harem'. Passes the Bechdel test. Koyuzu is my favourite character. 6.5/10.
