An artificer who has a mixed soldier and sage background. Other than intelligence her highest stat is actually dexterity. She is often regarded as the smartest person in the room and knows it.

In There But for the Grace of God Daniel says, "I hate when this happens," when he sees the rest of the team all gone and the gate dormant, and says later he just assumed he got left behind

There's a lot of humor in that, that Jack would get so pissed off that he would order Sam and Teal'c through the gate and they wouldn't want to go and leave Daniel but they have to do what Jack says

And Jack is like, "I'll wait here for him don't worry" but then 30 seconds later he follows them through the gate and says to Harriman, "Shut it off, he can get home by himself if he's gonna waste everyone's time like this"

I think Hammond would be annoyed that Jack would do that, ignoring several protocols and stuff, but Jack would always be like, "I'd never do it if there was any sign of danger, I only do it when we're completely alone somewhere, etc etc"

But then There but for the Grace of God happens

I imagine Sam, Teal'c, Harriman and Hammond are all annoyed at Jack, per the norm

I imagine Jack is annoyed at Daniel, per the norm

I imagine Jack waiting for him in the observation room next to Harriman, per the norm

But this time Daniel never comes back through

And as the minutes tick up and up Jack just feels his heart sink into his stomach and he goes pale as he finally realizes how dangerous this game has been

I know Jack, I know that once they send the search party back through that we see at the end of the episode he's gonna be kicking himself, beating himself up inside, fully convinced that what happened is his fault and his fault alone and he may as well have murdered Daniel and just so terrified that he is gone forever and it'll be because of him, because he left him behind
