A Shot at Relief (Welcome to My Medical Fundraiser) (I am Deeply Sorry)
The long and short of it is that I am extremely physically disabled. What a terrible car accident started about a decade ago, COVID/pneumonia nearly finished in January of 2021 when I was intubated and had a stroke. I now have a whole slew of medical complications, including a permanent feeding tube because the stroke paralyzed my stomach. One of the fun complications of THAT is that I can't sleep laying down anymore, so I sleep sitting up on the sofa in my house's downstairs hearth room (which is pretty much where I live 24/7). But sleeping sitting up screws very badly with my damaged right shoulder, and, as a result, from time-to-time, I am basically in agony non-stop until I have a cortisone shot. However! I am also on Medicaid, which, in my glorious state of the union does not cover any kind of pain relief.
I need $400, as soon as humanly possible, so I can go to the hospitial and get my shot. Every day is worse than the last and there is literally nothing else I can do to mitigate or improve the pain I'm in.
But this isn't just a begging hit-and-run, I promise you. I don't like asking people to give their hard-earned income away for nothing. It makes me feel kind of ashamed, to be honest, and I hate that we live in a time and world where these kinds of posts are necessary to get basic medical care, rip. But enough of that! I am not just asking for help, I am offering something in return!
