They are definitely about to expose him to the entire village. I’m guessing because of how badly they damaged his body, it‘ll be via having him “resurrect” in front of people. Maybe even have him kill or hurt someone. Tanaka is pretty adamant that the company doesn’t really give a damn about people’s lives. Either way, they aren’t just kidnapping him for whatever their goal is. They’re first going to make sure he never has a home to return to ever again.

So even if somehow Yoshiki/Tanaka/whoever manages to get him back, they won’t be able to stay there how they were. Which could be a good thing, since Yoshiki always wanted to leave, but…I don’t think going on the run/into hiding was what he had in mind lol.

And that’s assuming ‘Hikaru’ can even stay in that body after all this. He already said his connection to it was weak, and his neck has been in severe pain ever since the beheading. and this is just…so much worse.

If the first time made him unstable to the point of losing control, he’s really never going to recover from this. I’m starting to think he really is going to separate from the body, merge with Yoshiki, something. Unless he can somehow take that half of himself back in and repair it fully, but I dunno. He still wouldn’t be able to live openly with Yoshiki anywhere again. They’d still have to go into hiding.

I keep thinking back on this dream Maki had in vol 7. A lot of people thought it was a premonition for what happened in the cave in later chapters, but I realized something here.

It says they were found in Kibogayama. But, during that point in the story, they were in Ashidori…I don’t think this dream was related to the Ashizuka cave events. and ‘Hikaru’ did just get cut up in the Kibogayama tunnel, so…

aaaa. maybe they’re gonna fake their deaths to get out of all this. or maybe they’ll both leave their bodies behind in the end. I don’t think they’ll both really die, or at least, not in the traditional sense.
