If you don’t let go of your prejudices and past grudges, your heart won’t blossom. 2013 is coming, let’s make a change. We only have one planet so let’s show each other some kindness.
2013 is coming… let’s show each other some kindness…
I know the most dangerous dumpling-based spells and incantations. I can teach you how to enact wonton destruction
I didn't ask how big the room is, I said "I cast Firebao".
I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.
Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.
You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.
Hey kids, you need to start worrying a little less about getting “#mogged” and a little more about getting “#smogged”. This is an Air Quality Index public service announcement.

puttering around the house is an underrated form a self-care. make some tea or coffee. put on a podcast. sort the mail. tidy some pillows and fold some blankets. start the laundry. thaw some soup. just casually wander around aimlessly doing little things to make your space and life a little nicer. who cares if you get distracted or only do a little. you aren't being productive. you're puttering.
My life has gotten measurably better since I reframed the period from 3-4 pm as “puttering hour”. No it’s not me avoiding work or failing to force myself to concentrate during my mid afternoon slump. It’s puttering hour.
my problem is i think every character concept can be improved by making them a little nonbinary. this has created a comically unrealistic concentration of People With A Weird Gender Thing Going On in my stories and i will not be stopping any time soon. im genders georg.
There is no drug on earth that can replicate the absolute euphoria of hitting a writing flow state at 2:00 AM. You aren’t even typing anymore. You are a vessel. You are a channel for the gods. The characters are speaking directly into your brain and you’re just the stenographer trying to keep up. You feel like you could fight a bear. You feel like you invented the alphabet
how it genuinely feels to have someone who agrees with your somewhat niche stances on a character
you're my brother and to some extent my wife

girl vampires are so cool we need more girl vampires in general
and like. girl vampires who are given the same kind of depth as male vampires of reconciling their own monstrous desires with how human they still are or not. and not like. vapid sexy temptresses or whatever. they have their time and place but i want a girl vampire desperately gripping the sink looking into the mirror just to see what isnt there anymore
just saw another fic that completely misunderstood elementary schoolers. going to make a post as soon as my shift is done
i lied im doing this mid shift.
okay starting with preschoolers (3-5 year olds) they range a lot. i mostly work with nonverbal preschoolers, but i know several who are insanely verbose and use big words. one of them will answer questions in full sentences, the other doesn't even respond to her name.
kindergartners are pretty similar, but they tend to do a lot of vacant stares.
first graders looove attention. if you pay attention to a first grader you're done for. they tend to start developing their personalities to an extent at this point, and are more like little drama queens than anything else.
second graders are complex, strange beasts. they know swear words. they watch horror movies. they stay up until 8. they're real rebels. at this point they get a little meaner. more likely to point out your boogers. they still think burps are funny.
third grade is a bunch of little guys. like at this point they're at the age where they think they're basically adults and have nothing to worry about. baby talking them is a bad idea.
forth grade is 9-10 year olds and trust me, they're so much more mature than you think. they're basically like people. some of them are pretty cool. some are not.
fifth are the snootiest, smuggest little bastards on earth. they understand slurs and use them. do not talk to them.
*Arriving at the sex dungeon in full plate armor and wielding a broadsword*
... I'm asexual and can't think of anything funny to follow up with.
#are you perhaps there to defeat the bad dragon?#:3
I dunno. I was invited to a dungeon and came prepared to do some level grinding.
hello allo person in a fandom. let’s play a game. in front of you are two characters. your challenge is to okay and you’ve already started shipping them. well the crusher machine is going to activate now goodbye.
idk what op's intention is here, but this is such a controlling, puritanical attitude that at the very least borders on pro-harassment antishipping, and probably crosses the line into it. Especially since op is apparently wishing violence on people who readily ship fictional characters.
First off, this mindset is simply wrong—I'm ace and have always been a rampant shipper, I know tons of ace people who are the same, and I know lots of allosexual people who are not into shipping at all.
One's sexuality has literally nothing to do with your tastes in fiction. Nothing about you as a person necessarily has ANYTHING to do with your tastes in fiction.
Making that assumption is—and I'm not being hyperbolic—extremely dangerous and can lead directly to harassing other fans for what they enjoy in fiction, as well as harassing artists and writers because they created something you don't personally like. It's such an insidious disease that goes against the core values of fandom: ship and let ship, have fun, don't try to dictate how other people can have fun with their paper dollies. This entitlement in regards to other people's tastes in fiction often demonstrates that the people holding said beliefs are not yet very good at separating fiction from reality.
It's fine to be annoyed by a ship or characterization, and you can complain about too much of this headcanon or not enough of this one, etc. But insulting people who enjoy those things, and seemingly wanting to stop other people from enjoying those things is NOT ACCEPTABLE. It's not how fandom is supposed to operate, and if your goals are to control other people, then the only 'friends' you're going to find in fandom are other people who have that same controlling attitude, who will turn on you as soon as you like something they don't approve of.
So I hope op is joking here, but whether or not they're serious, insults like this make fandom a more hostile, less fun place for everyone. Also it shows a fundamental lack of understanding of asexuality.
this response was tenuously connected to the original post at best, very poorly researched, full of logical fallacies that undermined its own point, and carried an overly defensive tone that did not aid in conveying its point. unfortunately i had to give this a zero due to the sheer lack of engagement with the original material, to the point where this response seems to unironically echo the kind of sentiment that caused the post to be written in the first place.
the alphabet says HI but it doesnt actually mean it bcause it said JK afterwards what a fucken asshole
