Some of you never realized most disabled people have to pay to be able to walk or move around. Like big money payments. The kind that makes people become poor or homeless.

tbh im not entirely immune to a villain with a tragic backstory but i do think villain origins are a lot more interesting when the focus is less "here is the original sin, the first big bad thing that happened to them that made them who they are" and more "here is the first time a person who maybe otherwise felt powerless in their life realized that they could hurt someone and get away with it"

you can get a lot more mileage out of analyzing a truly abhorrent character through the lens of like. what sort of conditions would allow or even incentivize this kind of cruelty? what kind of person benefits from those conditions and how? over the more typical who hurt them type analysis. imo.

the point being made is school, everywhere in the world is a deeply political project and is marshalled for the purpose of nation building. you're not going to hear about the sins of your nation in any serious way at school most anywhere in the world, and expecting that it should have betrays a certain lack of uhh, street smarts. its for children and run by the govt.

my entire childhood i was threatened with juvenile detention just for being a weird kid. the kids in my class would lie about me doing bad things, or be doing bad things and then i would get in trouble and my school principal said if i didnt 'show remorse' id end up in juvy. neighbors called the cops on me and my own mother wouldnt take my side. so no, i dont think prison is a valid tool for rehabilitation or justice. jail is a threat the people in power use to control us and get rid of people they dont like. get more prison abolitionist now. get more youthlib now. get more transfeminist NOW
