This post is ancient and stupid but I still laugh whenever I see it
Ancient and BRILLIANT, I think you mean.
Ancient?
Every time someone gives the death toll of America in this or that war it always consists of -take the highest ever estimate all casualties, no matter how shaky -confuse "casualties" with "deaths" -Round up -Preface result with "at least"
Also count "everyone who ever dies for any reason" as the death toll of capitalism
Maximalism means that if you ever say "that number doesn't make sense" you don't care enough about The Omnicause, and ensures you're completely and obviously untrustworthy. So now nobody can talk about the number of casualties that is probably still bad!
TBF this is also the thing that happens with communism where we say anyone who died under a communist regime was killed by communism.
Which isn't to say communist regimes didn't implement policies that caused deaths obviously.
No? AFAICT, when people talk about deaths under communism, they are talking about executions or famines, both of which are the direct result of communist policies.
I don't think it's legitimate to say every famine death was caused by communist policy. Certainly it shares some blame maybe even a majority of the blame but do you think there were no problems other than the communist policies during these famines? Do we think without the policies 0 people would have died from famine?
Just for an example, Russia did weaponize hunger and famine in serious ways indistinguishable from mass murder while communist but also Russia experienced famines when they weren't communist and these famines still killed millions.
Zero people die of "natural" famine in countries after agriculture is mechanized.
Some of Communism's famines are intentional and murderous, like the Holodomor. Some, like the Great Leap Forward, are entirely the fault of Communism despite not being murderous because Communism is extremely bad at producing food. Every famine under Communist rule was the fault of Communism because famine does not happen under non-Communism, because Communism is extremely bad at producing food in ways no other ideology is. Intentional Communist policies of food creation cause famine in cases where famine would not have otherwise occurred. It was never a bad crop year. It was never a blight that affected all the crops everywhere. It was Communism's very specific and particular inability to produce food.
Just a reminder. Germany was hit worse by crop failures and didn't see millions starbe to death.

Henry Nowak's alleged killer has claimed during his trial that he was acting in self-defence.
Here's the context missing;
>Vickrum Digwa, 23, claims he acted in self-defence after [Nowak] used a racist insult, punched him and knocked his turban off, Southampton Crown Court heard.
And;
>Police initially handcuffed the victim before discovering his fatal injury a short time later.
So, officially, the cops didn't even notice he was stabbed when they cuffed him.
Even being very charitable, that sounds a lot like incompetence. Were they in a very dark alley or something?
Still, the trial of his killer has been covered multiple times by the Beeb and other outlets.
A Sikh man, Vickrum Digwa, is standing trial for the murder of a Polish student, Henry Nowak, in Southampton, Hampshire
>It is admitted that Nowak, already weak from knife wounds, was trying to reach help when the police arrived. The evidence is that, having arrived, the police interviewed both parties; told that Nowak had started a drunken fight and racially abused Digwa, they immediately handcuffed him. Afterwards, they realised his condition. When he collapsed, they removed the cuffs and administered first aid. But it was too late. He died in their hands.
The popular narrative is that the police automatically arrested the white guy who allegedly made a slur. I think the punching complicated things, but I still wanna know why they didn't notice the stabbing.
this is missing some of the big sticking points of this story. like that digwa's family was extremely complicit. his parents and his brother helped him lie to police on the spot. iirc, his mother even held henry down as he was bleeding out in the street. none of his family members were charged for any of this, last i heard.
but that's just a family of criminals. what's maybe more egregious is that henry told police multiple times that he'd been stabbed and one of the officers turned around and told him, word for word, "i don't think you have, mate".
they didn't just arrest him because they were told he attacked someone. they arrived at the scene and immediately started treating him with open contempt.
That seems pretty polite to me, not "open contempt".
Especially when suspect lie about being hurt all the time.
Also, the original complaints were about Nowak, Digwa, and the cops' treatment of both. Not the family of either of any of those.
I have seen no evidence of any racial motive by the cops. Just assumptions.
The racial motive of the cops is attributed largely to
1, the family and suspect claimed racism in the first place to justify claiming victim status.
2, the murder weapon was a religious dagger that they were allowed to carry around as an exception to britains stringent knife laws.
3, someone's apparently put out the handbooks and such that the police are trained by and IIRC, it basically codifies "don't arrest the non-whites, arresting non-whites means contributing to racism" behavior, which people are also claiming is part of why they didn't bother checking Nowak for injuries at all until he collapsed and stopped responding.
also, as far as i know the only info we have of concretely what happened before the cops showed up with bodycams is the fact that nowak was stabbed and Digwa had the murder weapon. Dunno if there's medical reports on Digwa having any injury.
1 and 2 aren't good evidence.
3. Were those handbooks for these specific cops?
What was the exact language used?
What are the rules and policies for this sort of situation if they were not acting on racial motives, and were they following those rules?
This BBC article says Digwa's brother called 999 and claimed Nowak was the attacker. Even if he was stabbed, it could've been in self-defense if they thought the call was true.
The operator also said they sent an ambulance.
And the cops called a bus and started CPR one minute after they arrested him. Which was one minute after they arrived.
So, two minutes total. That doesn't sound like they could've done a lot to help him even if they hadn't cuffed him.
The judge said Nowak's injuries were so severe he would not have survived, however quickly he received first aid, CPR or expert medical treatment.
Also, Digwa was convicted three days after OP's post. 21 year minimum sentence.
Notable medical specialist criminal judge said he would have died anyways. Case closed.
And you think the judge wasn't summarizing testimony from the actual medical folks who treated Nowak or looked at the evidence...why?
Considering that there is conflicting evidence related to that *AND* the case was about the stabber and not the negligence or lack thereof by the police officers I do in fact doubt that there was much relevant testimony to that.

Text from recipe
Tim Cain's Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins -- They're the shadow king's favorite!
1 and 2/3 cup flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup sugar
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup pumpkin (half of a 16 oz can)
1/2 cup (one stick) butter, melted
preheat oven to 350. grease muffin tins (one dozen regular size) or use baking cups. mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Break eggs into another bowl. add pumpkin and butter and whisk until blended. stir in chocolate chips. pour over dry ingredients and stir until just blended. do NOT overstir! scoop batter into tins and bake 20-25 minutes. after cooling, keep muffins wrapped in plastic to avoid drying.
I'm sure people have pointed it out already, but
Tim Cain is one of the creators of Fallout

In Longview some high school students dragged a girl into a locker room, pinned her to the floor, and partially undressed her. The superintendent allegedly handled it internally but she never reported it to the police and she intimidated the victim to keep quiet.
Word got out. The boys have been arrested for rape and the Sup's been arrested for covering it up. They should be lined up and shot.
Yes they should
I'm not sure what the Super and boys should be charged with, but I'm pretty sure she should never be allowed to work in a school again. Also, I thought Worm was exaggerating this sort of thing.
The Buffalo Schoolboard have been covering up several sexual.assaults, rapes and even kidnapping attempts in their school district.
