maybe interesting avenues for bolaire’a character development will open if he really does complain to julien about the way thjazi treated him but julien, with finding out the whole deal about how bolaire operates, is like. what are you talking about. because julien could, i think, understand lack of desire in thjiazi to trust the entity that killed his comrades & potentially can threaten his brother. maybe he also could understand thjiazi not wanting to interact with bolaire directly if he's parasiting/has killed a person that wears him, especially if that someone is someone he knows. because so far i can’t see any growth, it’s like he is stuck at “i will write a different story. I’ll be kind and clever. but first I’m gonna kill these guys in their sleep.”

I also wonder how much of Bolaire’s character has been built at the moment he saw the play about love defeating everything(tm) and heard (a teasing) something along the way of doesn’t love conquers tyranny and evil and thought: let’s find out! because from in-play perspective he feel to me like a person who’s consistently surprised/annoyed by the world pushing back at his actions, it getting in the way of the reality he’s writing for himself where he is kind and clever. first thjazi disrupts his friendship with his brother, then his sister is (justifiably somewhat, i think) upset that he didn’t search for her, then everybody, for some reason, still care about thjazi even in death “overlooking his wrongdoings” or whatever and don’t know how thjazi “taught him to hate” and did terrible things to him (maybe they were; i don’t know. but at first it’s known that thimble mostly interacted with bolaire, not thjazi, so i somewhat worry that teaching to hate was thjazi telling bolaire to stay away from his brother’s family which he, most interestingly, did not) - while refusing to extend the wanted sympathy to anybody else, at least in ep31.
