Tags, spoilers, logistics:

I spoiler-tag the latest CR episode until Thursday morning Eastern Time, or until six days after airing for non-Thursday episodes. I otherwise usually spoiler tag podcasts and TV shows that drop one at a time for 2-3 days, and anything else (books, movies, video games, shows that drop as a full season) for several weeks if not months. If it's not an actual play show and you want me to spoiler tag something for longer than usual, please send me a message off anon.

I am very spoiler-averse. I block both main and spoiler tags and turn off the askbox when seriously avoiding spoilers for Critical Role and I don’t follow people who don’t spoiler tag. If you spoil things in a reply or reblog from me/on my post (this includes spoiling things in the tags of your reblog and includes tone spoilers) you will get one courtesy "please don't" reply/DM and will be blocked the second time.

Critical Role tags are #critical role when I want to main tag, #cr tag when I don't, #cr spoilers for spoilers, #cr discourse for discourse I think is worth tagging as such. I will use cr spoilers for any Critical Role channel aired show (eg, Candela Obscura, Age of Umbra, random one shots), not just the main campaigns. Other tags should be fairly intuitive but please don't hesitate to ask if you're confused!

book you’ve reread the most times? I am a big rereader and so it's probably either Memory from the Vorkosigan Saga, or like, The Fellowship of the Ring. I came to Memory much later but I reread it pretty regularly, or at least most of it in that there's a passage I really like early on and half the time I'm like eh fuck it and read the rest of it as well, whereas I used to have an annual LOTR reread but I fell off that a while back.

8. what is the first book you remember reading yourself? literally cannot remember. My first memory of reading was that I used a flashlight to read a picture book during a power outage when I was about four and a half and my parents asked me to wait until morning to save the flashlight batteries but I do not remember the exact picture book. I also have a memory of reading Mouse Tales by Arnold Lobel at a pretty young age but I was probably 5.

11. what non-fiction books do you like if any? science or history related but through something hyperspecific. A few examples: Nuking Alaska (graphic novel); Underland by Robert Macfarlane; Mudlark by Lara Maiklem; The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean. I've also read a decent amount of Oliver Sacks and of Richard Preston (The Hot Zone really was formative to an extent). I think I also mentioned Devil and the White City. I have read a few more contemporary journalistic ones but not lately (Going Clear, Catch and Kill). A lot of these are focused on a scientific topic or phenomenon, but they're also very much about the author's own experiences. Mudlark and Underland are particularly I think indicative of what I like to read most in nonfiction.

17. top 5 children’s books? Honestly an extremely hard question in that children's books encompass everything from like. The Very Hungry Caterpillar to like, The Hobbit. With that said you can trace a great deal of who I am to the trio of The Hobbit, A Wrinkle in Time, and The Westing Game. I cannot decide between Elizabeth Enright (either the Melendy books or Gone-Away Lake; The Hero and the Crown; and The View from Saturday) for the other two so here's six.

7. is there a series/book that got you into reading? Not really in that I do not have a clear recollection of a time when I was not a reader. I was reading pretty fluently if like, obviously very simple books, by about four and a half years old, and also my parents were early adopters of "screentime is bad" and my mother was a stay at home mom when I was young so we just went to the library like. twice a week.
