Although there is some clear inspiration taken from Yoshitaka Amano, there is more to it. It is that bold sense of ugliness that’s also adapted to this setting, it gives a sort of grim tale about being consumed by your own gift. The wealthy class aren’t gracefully drawn in any sense of the word. It has Amano beauty but a French/German gruesome romantic flavour to it.

Look at those vibrating colours and overal vibe 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ I love how his dark green hair and white pink makeup matches the chaotic style of his clothes (without the clothes having to be torn down or anything). He reminds me of a dandy in the 90’s. The sneakers is such a cool touch!

the grim reaper being armed with an enormous razor sharp scythe becomes a lot less intimidating when you understand just how common a tool scythes actually were in the pre industrial era of agriculture. it's like if we invented a personification of death called "the dark handyman" who takes souls by unscrewing them from the body with his wrench.

It's very endearing to me how many people are willing to keep an eye on a video feed so they can push a button and let a fish in the Netherlands get to the other side of a dam.

It is genuinely baffling to me, in a very kind and positive way, especially coupled with the local news continually going several shades of 'wtf, this thing is a roaring success again and we don't quite get why'. They've already quadrupled their capacity for simultaneous clicks and it's still nowhere near enough and there's just... Bewilderment.
