AcademyMen: Cross
Cross appeals to a subset of men into the 'big bubba' look: the donut-chomping cop who carries an extra 100 pounds or so on his bones. He pulls off the look pretty well (most of the time).
Not gonna lie: the first time I saw Cross (the duct tape scene in High and Tight) I was pretty sure he was a dyke and wondered what a woman was doing at in an Academy's all-male sausage smorgasbord. Other Academy films put that misconception to rest.
Cross is one of those thick, beefy uniformed man who straddles the line between bubba and buff.
Filmography:
Kick-Ass Cop 1 (1995)
Nine Tenths of the Law (1996)
High and Tight (1997)
Kick-Ass Cop 2 (1997)
To Serve and Protect (2000)

AcademyMen: Training Center shoulder patches
Over the years, Academy Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) wore several different shoulder patches on their uniform shirts.
It may be a matter of convenience - or cost. Wearing 'real' uniform shirts and shoulder patches would be the cheapest option - but also the most likely to cause legal issues for the Academy, as departments generally have strict policies about wearing insignia in non-work situations. A generic POLICE DEPT. patch works, but the most on-brand option is the custom TRAINING CENTER patch.
In some films, officers wear 4" patches with gold or white borders with the words POLICE DEPT. over a gold eagle. Galls (a US based uniform store) sells these generic patches for $3.99.
In other films, officers wear custom-made white-bordered patches with the words TRAINING CENTER over a gold eagle. Custom patches like these cost more than off-the shelf, and take a little more effort to acquire.
Several other patches appear in AcademyMen clips, some of which may be (?) actual LEO uniform shirts.
Consistency in a single film makes sense, but there was no real need for the Academy to be consistent in all films over several years.
The Academy Training Center (ATC)
For a brief shining moment spanning the late 80s and early90s, the Academy Training Center (ATC) was a physical reality, a space where uniform-oriented men proudly displayed their specialized talents and experience. A place where real law enforcement and military men performed in very realistic incarceration situations.
The Academy was the brainchild of Gary 'Chip' Weichelt, an American entrepreneur and filmmaker. Many AcademyMen videos were created in and around his home in Washington, Missouri (and later Alpharetta, Georgia). If you pay attention to the backgrounds in the vids, you’ll see details of both homes – upstairs in the ‘real’ house and downstairs in the ‘Academy space’, both when they were under construction and in their completed forms. Chip literally lived at the Academy.
Chip posted ads in several gay publications, and hundreds (perhaps thousands?) of men booked sessions at the Center while the Academy was operational, hoping to experience first-hand authentic and fully realistic incarceration, interrogation and disciplinary situations.
The Academy did not offer sexual services, although ‘happy endings‘ may have occasionally arisen from the activities. Think of it as a stationhouse-themed environment that focused on domination, control, discipline and punishment - not a well-stocked bathhouse or playroom. You paid upfront for a bespoke experience customized to your requests, which were then carried out by a team of well-prepared professionals who performed many of the same activities in their work-day lives.
AcademyMen videos almost seem to have evolved as an afterthought. The Academy had wall-mounted security cameras that recorded activities just as they would in a real facility, and clips made from this black-and-white security footage can still be found in odd corners of the internet. These rough videos were later followed by more polished productions sold under the Fleetwood label (the name that appears on the ‘big’ Academy films).
Chip’s Academy is only a memory now, but Academy images, clips and films capture moments lost in time before DEI, before quotas, before political correctness.

AcademyMen: Sarge
If you like stocky, muscular, uniformed men then Chuck Mitchell ('Sarge') is your man. Cocky, arrogant and built like a fireplug, Sarge flat out dominated every Academy video in which he appeared.
Bursting out of his body-hugging uniform and giving over-the-top performances, he was wildly popular among a certain audience. Even today clips of his performances top most AcademyMen web searches. His images and his clips are everywhere.
Sarge was the campiest cop ever to appear in an AcademyMen film. Almost without exception his performances were energetic, over-the-top exaggerations of macho male behavior. It’s safe to assume he trained for a role in TV-style wrestling with his comic rages, extreme posturing and pulled punches. His performances are fun to watch precisely because they are so extreme.
He is a caricature, a cartoon (albeit a built and buff and bad cartoon), and no real threat at all.
Sarge only appeared in a few AcademyMen videos (and one BeForced video), but his performances were remarkable and a lot of fun to watch.

To Serve and protect (2000)

Rigger on Hunter (AcademyMen)
AcademyMen: Gunner
Booted and uniformed Gunner appeared in about a dozen videos filmed in and around the Academy Training Center's Georgia facility in the 1990s.
The man isn't Hollywood beautiful or buff, but he is in his physical prime in these videos. Well built—not gym built, if you know what I mean. He looks like a man you might meet in the real world.
What Gunner's got in spades is attitude. Cocky, no-fracks-given, attitude. He's hot, and he KNOWS it.
Gunner doesn't just look like a cocky bastard: he ACTS like one too.
His iconic performance as the cop in Nine Tenths of the Law (1996) boot worship scene launched (and continues to launch) a thousand wet dreams.
You look at his tailored, body-hugging uniform, dark sunglasses and motorcycle helmet and feel your body respond. You just can't take your eyes off of him. You want MORE.
But this man doesn't give a frack about you, what you want, or what you think about him.
MAJOR stud!

AcademyMen: Malloy
Malloy is arguably the most popular man ever to appear in AcademyMen films. This uniformed officer brought brooding good looks and an commanding presence to every performance.
Maybe that's because this booted badge man takes charge in almost every situation, in or out of uniform.
But Malloy rarely appears out of uniform - which is a shame - because this is one beefed-up, bad-assed bull of a man.
