Is Clayface part of this AU? If so, does he have a specific role?
he was a few years ago but I frequently forget about him and for that I am sorry
I know this ask is old but since a movie for him is on it’s way, I decided to rehash him a day or two ago so i might as well attach it to this
in my AU his relationship with teddy (his parter in the BTAS episode Feat Of Clay) is still active, but he’s a changed person and very aloof most of the time
did these sketches just now so they’ll probably change but i’m thinking of combining the comic and BTAS version like I had done before with a character design for Teddy based on the new film (he’d be genderfluid or nonbinary in a late 80’s kind of way)
I imagine Clay doesn’t hang out much with the main gang and is mostly in cahoots with the other physically disfigured / mutated villains like Croc & Twoface since they all have similar struggles
I’m kinda prepared to be disappointed about seeing a gay Matt Hagen on the big screen because we know this movie is a prequel to his appearance in Creature Commandos, in which he fetishizes lesbians while impersonating a female professor. Even the trailer shows his only friend to be female.
well, that’s how the clay crumbles I guess
Hello? dc? is Clayface in the Clayface movie directly based on the explicitly gay BTAS version of Clayface also going to be gay? hello?

art changes, AU stays the same
Been wanting to see how much my art’s changed since i started my ask blog and like…
1 year (-ish) ago:
Today:
1) things got ANGULAR
2) my lines have more flow
3) i actually know how to draw his fucking hair
Like it’s crazy how doing something periodically, for an audience, forces you to simplify and learn new things, i don’t think i’d be half as good or as fast at art as i am now if i wasn’t drawing litteraly all the time:
(1 year ago/today)
I’ve also learned that character design is a never ending process that takes a lot of experimentation and that’s why season 1 of your favorite cartoon show always looks so different.
Been wanting to add another update. I never feel like im improving fast enough but it’s been another year since i made this post and the difference is, well:
Ofc, I could always be better but i’ve learned so many new tricks and skills since then. That last one is my favorite despite being the oldest, i’ve been using a flat pen lately but might go back to what I was using before
So it’s been A YEAR AND A HALF (approximately) since my last update… since then a lot has happened and a lot hasn’t, I stopped updating my blog and doing comics altogether almost but I made an effort to keep practicing… a lot of changes have come with that as far as how I portray my boy but at the end of the day he’s still the same clown in all the ways that matter most and so am I
My humble freinds and followers, it has once again been 1 year and several months since my last progress log, I am once again doing comics of my son at a more sustainable pace than I was, and am currently digging my way into the industry despite many MANY stupid obstacles…. let’s see how things have gone:
it’s that time of year again…. to be honest I wasn’t gonna do this again cuz I I’m honestly perfectly satisfied with my art from a year ago and it truly seema like no time has passed at all but JUST to stay consistent
for SOME reason tumblr keeps nuking the text in some of the upper reblogs which is pissing me off, but anyway, lately I've been doing this thing called "whatever I want" and it's been a lot of fun
it took 8 years to get here but that ain't too bad
hello I just came from youtube, your work is really cool!
do you have tips for improving with color please? Like how did you learn to pick and use them? i particularly love the way you do your lighting.
I yearn to use fun colors, but i struggle a lot with understanding theory and all that jazz. I also draw comics and always end up with boring and muddy colors for my scenes. Like if I try to deviate from "normal" it doesn't look coherent, especially with night scenes or like anything with unnatural light.
I'm guessing you take a lot of inspiration from classic comics, but do you have maybe classes or coloring exercises that you've done? thank you <3
honestly, my color journey is still ongoing, but the biggest piece of advice I have is to study other peoples work and use slightly de-saturated colors most of the time
I think most people aim to make colors pop by using lots of super bright / super saturated tones, but colors pop best when something vibrant is juxtaposed against something duller and darker, I use that trick a lot to make my work seem very bright and colorful in general
also don’t be afraid to push colors to their limits, a desaturated blue can pass for green in some contexts, purple can pass as brown, light orange for yellow or pink for orange, this is something that takes some practice to utilize, but it can make coloring so much more fun
also, you can push all or most of your colors towards a certain spot on the color wheel, like a tint, if you use a shade of yellow that’s closer to green, use a shade of blue that’s closer to green as well, or a red that’s more orange than pink, this one’s tough to explain, but if you mess around in a drawing program you’ll get what I mean
