The Pevensies favorite and least favorite seasons
Peter, for some reason, can't stand spring. He hates his allergies and the rain. He's naturally clumsy so obviously the rain doesn't help with that. At least, these were the reasons he tells the others. In all honesty, he just doesn't like that the people aren't coming to make their voices heard. There was too much rain to travel in the spring, so no one wants to make the trip. Peter just misses being able to help solve their narnian's troubles. He feels that it is his fault their voices aren't heard during spring. This is why he loves summer time. People from all over Narnia come to ask for help, and he feels needed. After all, he is only a kid who wants to be the best he can for his people, a kid who craves their praise. Weirdly enough, he also likes that the sea is finally a nice temperature for swimming. He will constantly drag his siblings outside to enjoy the waves, and sometimes he will even convince Lucy to build sand castles with him. She always agrees because she loves to see that childish glint in his eyes as they appraise their beautiful creation.
Susan, much to Lucy's dismay, loves autumn. She loves the beautiful colors that the leaves change to. She loves how outside is the perfect temperature to practice her archery skills. On her morning walks, she likes to hear the crunch of the leaves as she goes through the garden. She likes seeing the drastic transformation of everything in Narnia. She thinks that autumn means growth because, although everything looks as if it's dying, it is just preparing for a new time. In contrast, Susan just despises summer. She tells herself that she hates the heat and bugs of summer because they hinder her archery practice. However, deep down she knows this isn't the real reason. She use to love summer. She had more free time to spend with her mum and dad, and she spent every single second with them that she could. She loved that she could openly be herself with her parents, but she doesn't have them with her anymore. The summer reminds her of what she use to have, and to her that is the hardest burden to bear.
Edmund use to love winter because, before the war, he would make snowmen with his siblings and open presents with his family. However, after the White Witch, Edmund found himself despising the thought of snow and ice. He no longer made snowmen, he didn't want presents, he just wanted to be alone. The snow and ice reminded him of his mistakes. Therefore, he started to fall in love with spring. Maybe it was because spring signifies a new life, and he felt like a new person. Maybe it was because Lucy was always overjoyed when he showed her a new, colorful flower. Maybe it was because he loved to dance in the rain, especially with his crown on. No matter what it was, Edmund found peace in spring.
Lucy, although she would never say it out loud, doesn't particularly like autumn. She hates how the leaves die and then fall down. She doesn't like the chill of the temperature because it isn't quite warm but it's not quite cold either. She doesn't like how everything is changing. She has had to much of her life ripped apart and changed since she was a little girl. Therefore, she can't bring herself to like autumn because, to her, it means death and change. On the other hand, Lucy adores winter. She no longer focuses on the bare trees because Narnia is turned into a breathtaking winter wonderland. She goes outside to make snowman and snow angels. She gets to have all the hot chocolate she could possibly dream of, and afterwards, she'll curl up by the fire with her siblings. However, her absolute favorite part of winter is Christmas. She loves getting to watch her siblings faces light up when they open their presents, and she loves how Peter always seems to know exactly what she wants. Winter means spending more time with her family and that is what she loves most.
