So I've decided to be cold to those who walk over me constantly
But not necessarily losing my sense of humanity
For I will always love the people
But not at the expense of losing myself...
What is Success?
I often wonder what success really is.
I mean, as a Muslim the end goals and aims of life are very different, and the foundation of success is also very different. Of course it can be logically defined and related to the worldly topics, but let's not make this a religious topic.
Let's look at it from a worldly perspective, what really is success?
I'd like to think that it has something to do with self-actualisation. This is a point in life where you're at your peak level considering whichever aspect, and you're content. Surely, the point of self-actualisation changes from time to time, but to be happy and at your full potential at any given time, seems to be real success to me.
So, to my heart that worries, it's okay to be messy. It's okay to not have a care in the world sometimes. It's okay to let go and just sleep all day. It's okay to have acne problems and be fat. It's okay to not do well in school. But it's only okay when you know for sure, that you'll come out of it, a better self.
People Pleasing or Honourable Service?
I realised I really like to give things or do things for others.
I think it's been a lifelong practice in my family and even though sometimes I want to hate people, I really can't. Does that mean I'm meant to do a lifetime of service for others? Not that it's a bad thing, I mean.. Living a life of service is the highest rank of honour, I'd say.
But what about when it costs you your mental health?
People have treated me in many humiliating ways. But I still keep on giving back to them, and caring for their well-being and their emotions. So, am I making myself suffer, or am I doing the right thing?
Rewinding
I've been off of this app/site for two years now.
Time really flies. But this time I want to record that time into words, and really write down about every passing moment. I'm only doing this because I need to slow down, and I need to get a hold of myself.
I can't do it if I can't categorise my thoughts, or keep my point of focus intact. I considered doing a handwritten version of this but I realised that I will not eventually commit or even carry a notebook with me anywhere.
Hence I'm resorting to online blogging to keep a copy of my thoughts somewhere. I need to relax and rewind, and I feel that this will be the best way to do so.
Bismillah..
