This is finally done, Medieval Windenburg is finished and ready to replace your world.

I clearly underestimated the time it would take to achieve such a big work, but I'm super glad to share it with you now.

MEDIEVAL WINDENBURG

This video is a world tour so that you can see all the world's areas with no exception, that's why it's a bit long haha.

What does this mod do ?

Retextures most of the world items (terrains, objects, walls etc)

Removes ALL the modern stuff

Replaces some models with better ones

Replaces Windenburg's Map

Here is the preview of it :

Medieval Windenburg is not a save file, and it's not lots neither, it really reworks the world items we can't edit in the game when we play it (I mean unlike lots).

Here's a list of questions and answers that will provide all the necessary informations about this mod (I think lol) :

Q : Will it make my game lag ?

A: Not it won't. For 99% I used the same image sizes that the original ones. Only a few exceptions, but they are so small that it won't impact your game (I mean if you have a pc that can run TS4 properly, if it struggles already with the base game then it will be the same here.)

Q : Will my game look exactly the same as in your video ?

A : It may, and it may not. Lemme explain : In addition of my mod I use @k-hippie retextures of trees and some plants but not all beacause some will conflict with mine.

Also I use @alf-si-cc retextures of windenburg (trees, water retexture)

And that's all I think. Of course you can use the Medieval Windenburg without these other mods ;)

Q : Do I need other addons ?

A : No, you only need Get together. Then, if you have Seasons, I retextured the stand and the bucket from it that appear in Windenburg.

Q : What reshade preset did you use in the video and the pictures ?

A : I'm in love with @intramoon's "Patchouli Rose" that's the one I almost always use. Also I really like "Hellfire" also from her.

Q: Is it compatible with Timeless Mod ?

A : No it's not. With Medieval Windenburg you can't use Timeless as teh same time as I also remove modern things but the conflicting point is when Timless removes objects that I retextures or replaced in my mod. If you have the two at the same times you'll have some modern houses and other stuff showing up while they won't if you only use my mod.

Q : Can I use these world Items on my lots ?

A : Yes you can. You just need to activate the cheats "bb.showhiddenobjects" and "bb.showliveeditobjects" to have all the items showing up. After that you can either search "**debug**" and check Base game + Get together or search "thesensemedieval" / "Windenburg". However, I didn't rename all the items so there are some you might not find typing these two words. (I'll probably update this later"

Q: Are you going to medievalize other worlds ?

A : Sure ! I ccreated a survey some a few days ago, you can vote for the world you want me to medievalize next : HERE

Q : Is it normal that the DJ booth is still here ?

A : Yes, because it only appears when it’s festival or something like that I think, as I didn’t have this event to show up yet in my game I didn’t remove it as I didn’t even know it could appear like that while no one asked for it haha, but don"t worry it will disappear when the event is finished (I think) If it’s remaining then yes I will make a package to remove it)

Q : Is it normal that the Llama bush is still here ?

A: No. I don’t know why, before I merge all the packages the llama was replace as I wanted by a statue from tw3, the one we see in the video, but one I merge all the files it stangely disappered to show the llama bush… When I’ll make an update of the mod (not that soon but I will do one I think) I will solve it don’t worry ^^

Q : The world is grey themed and not brown like in your video and pics, why ?

A : It will happen only if you are using K-hippie’s retexture of windenburg at the same time (I talk about it a bit later in this post, just have to scroll down)

No flowers mod (the flowers prited on the terrain not the 3d ones)

In fact in my game it doesn’t conflict, but it seems to change from one game to another so let me know if his plants overrride mine (the roses).

You can also use his terrain retextures if mine don’t suit you.

HOWEVER

Do not use his retexture of get together at the same time as Medieval Windenburg or his grey themed walls will override my brown themed ones in the world.

Here are the files you should remove then :

If you keep them, the walls, the urban terrains and some rocks from this file will override mine.

THE UPDATE (01/18/22)

What's new in this update ?

This is a medieval mod, so every piece that had nothing to deal with medieval era (aesthetic, too modern etc) was basically removed. But, since some of you plan to use it to another purpose, I organized the mod so that you can pick up what you want and remove easily what you don't want.

You will have two options now :

if the previous version is good to you, you can simply put this new merged package into your mods folder.

If you don't want everything from this mod, you can choose what you want to put in your game.

In this case there are 4 folders :

Optional removals (easel, piano, matte etc)

Removals

Replacements

Retextures

And the map override seperated as some didn't want it.

If you don't want the optional removals for instance, simply delete it. If you want some of the optional removal, open it and choose the packages you want to keep, all of them have been renamed clearly.

Fot this update, I also changed some things, I found out I forgot to retexture the stones from the rural area for example.

The Llama Statue is now properly replaced, I really can't understand why it didn't work in the previous version.

I put back the benches from merchant area, rural and Dutchess' garden. The reason why I removed them in previous version was because of a horrid texture glitch I could not find a way to get rid of, but I finally succeeded so here they are :

I fixed some issues like weird black things on some grass grounds, the season stand changing texture in winter, the black line on the road in rural area, see the changes below :

Now that everything is renamed properly in packages and in s4s, you will be abale to find each piece of the mod (debug objects etc) for build/buy mode by activating cheats bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects then searching "thesensemedieval" to find them all.

HOW TO INSTALL ?

Well that's simple (the instructions are within the zip archive but I repeat here just in case)

Extract the zip file

Choose between merged and unmerged. If merged, simply put the package into your mods folder. If unmerged, then choose the folders or packages you want, put them in your mods folder, you can put them in a subfolder if you want to.

Ignore the desktop.ini file

Make a backup save of your EP02 world files, you'll find them in Origin games/ the sims 4/ Delta/ World/ Area

Once you've saved the original files somewhere even safer, put the world files of my mod into the location I said above.

Launch the game
