Blue blood dripped from his nose. Error messages popped into his view. Minor damages. Thirium would be getting low soon. Josh wasn't trying to fight back. Even getting hurt himself, he couldn't bring himself to hurt anyone else.

Then it stopped. Then Markus was there. Josh couldn't focus too much on what was happening until he saw Markus right in front of him, helping him stand. Josh put a hand on the leader's shoulder, keeping himself steady once on his feet. He didn't want to look around, instead choosing to keep his eyes on Markus. "Thank you."

The room was quiet except for Markus's voice. Simon laid down, head resting in the other's lap, eyes closed as he listened. He paid no attention to the actual words spoken, focusing instead on the sound of Markus's voice, the change in tone, the lilt on certain words. It was a comforting moment and Simon hoped it would remain, that no one would come to interrupt them for a while.

It had been a few days since Chloe had left. She’d left with the intent of retrieving her sisters and returning, taking them away from Kamski’s house and bringing them with her to Jericho. But days past, and neither Simon nor Josh had heard from her. Then Simon received a vague and confusing message from her. It was enough to heighten his concern and instantly decide to go check on the situation.

Going through the front door didn’t seem a wise decision. Was coming to Kamski’s villa a wise decision at all? Unlikely, but he was there with a purpose.

Perhaps sneaking in through a window was foolish, but Simon hadn’t really thought ahead on this. The house seemed silent. He was about to walk further inside when he heard footsteps behind him. He half expected to see Kamski himself (thank ra9 it wasn’t), but what he didn’t expect was to be met with a knife pointed at him.

Eyes traveled further up to meet a familiar pair of blue eyes. He knew instantly it was her, not one of the others that shared her likeness. It was Chloe herself that had a knife and wary eyes trained on him. She looked... scared?

Simon held his hands up. “Chloe?” His voice was soft and quiet so as to not alert anyone else who might be in the house. “Chloe, it’s me, Simon. Put the knife down, please.”

Perhaps Simon had gotten carried away. Perhaps pressing Gavin against the wall and kissing him wasn't the smartest move. But Gavin hadn't yelled or pushed or hit him for it. After Simon pulled away, he could only stare at the detective. The Android opened his mouth to speak, to apologize perhaps. But the words never came out. He didn't have the chance before Gavin quickly walked away from him. If Simon didn't know better, he would have thought he'd seen a hint of a blush on the man's face.
