Okay so I was untangling random wool while cleaning my room (I got distracted by the wool) so I just zones out thinking about what powers would aftg characters have (then later I had a conversation about this with my friend and it was bit improved) anyways here my thoughts if aftg characters had superpowers but not in modern time, like fantasy au or smth. (Also there will be thing slike "if she practices" which means that there are levels to their power, and of course each power would have an obstacle cuz powers with limits are so much more interesting):
- first thing I thought of was Andrew, I feel like he would have the gift of prophecy. Not exactly viewing the future, he just randomly gets visions, sometimes it can be words, sometimes it can be voices sometimes shapes or just nothing, he gets them randomly but most often when he sleeps deeply. With his super memory he remembers the visions and then it's easier to understand them, but they also can have multiple meanings or something
-then Aaron, as twins I thought that their powers should be like opposite but in the same theme, which was time, and he can see someone's past when touching bare skin. But, he can't control exact moments that he needs to see, if he touches someone unexpectedly then it happens without him wanting to see the past. Also if he practices he will be able to control what kind of past he sees, but those depend on emotions. Like he cant do "show me the time Nicky met Eric" but he can "show me the time Nicky felt like he was born again and fell in actual true love"
- so since the twins are connected to time, Nicky has invisibility, because is like being in present. He is in present but others don't see him. His clothes disappear too but he doesn't need to concentrate harder, like not like on and of button, it's a button you need to hold. Also if he practices then he can make someone invisible if he's touching them but it goes even harder. Also the reason he creates this loud image of himself is so that others don't find out about his superpower. He makes them believe he can't be silent, but he can. Also this superpower has came to my mind because he felt like the real him wasnt noticed while he pretended for his parents (to be straight to be as much religious ect)
- it was pretty hard with Neil because the only thing that came to my mind at first was superspeed, but it's too obvious and too boring. So his superpower is wind control. But this one has limits so he can't like make hurricanes or attack someone with wind, but it does make him much faster than human being can, also could help him like... Jump high, almost flying. And attract objects almost like telekinesis. BUT there is a big BUT, whenever he uses his power the thing layer of air all around his body heats up and he gets super hot (how much hot depends on how much power he used). This is not only connected to his speed in sports and general running, but, he was followed most of his life, trouble after trouble, he ran away from his problems and adapted to that. He didn't fight back, he ran away. And also BC he gets hot he doesn't have much clothing for colder seasons cuz he's always hot (hehe) and he would always carry like a bottle of water or whatever liquid holder there are.
-okay next is Dan, as a team captain she should be great with understanding her teammates (doesn't have to be sports since they're in fantasy-ish) she can sense emotions which helps alot with Andrew. Which also helps her with knowing when someone is lying. If she practices then she can change the emotions, but not too much, more like she can change the intensity of that emotion, which means if she goes lying with someone, she can make that peson less stressed and look more convincing.
-for Matt I couldn't think of anything proper so let's settle with electricity for now.
-allison would have charm speak (yes I just finished heroes of Olympus and yes that idea was from piper, but my friend and I both thought of it, even thought my friend wasn't reading HOO, so I think it's good enough) also for some reason my first thoughts for her were something to do with vampires, like .... IMAGINE THAT BADDIE AS A MODERN VAMPIRE IDK.
- for Renee, I thought of a healer (tbh this was for Aaron at first but it suits Renee more), she can heal BUT, she has to pray before dying so. It's not that some deity is giving her those powers, it's that she BELIEVES that some deity is giving her those powers, and she believes that if she doesnt pray it wouldn't work and because she believes that, I DOES NOT WORK (for the prayer to be an obstacle I think it had to be at least 2 minutes, which often could be last two minutes so yeah)
-for riko I thought of controling the darkness (yeah yeah ik it's obvious for a villain to be that) but like...m the whole ravens aesthetic, (OMG JUST RHOUGHT OF THAT.... If he had those powers, and he is basically a son of exy (or whatever we will have in the fantasy world) so tetsudzi gets the whole ravens aesthetic JUST TO MATCH HIS NEPHEW!!) anyways, so it's harder to catch him in the darkness, like he is less visible in it. And the darkness has mental impact, like... Put people around him on tension, your sad thoughts come up more often, bad memories come more vividly.
- for jean, it's smoke..... Okay so basically he can constroll tongues of smoke, and make shapes with them like projections or illusions. But when he was with riko, BC of that mental impact, jean couldn't use his powers because, a thing that blocks that power is fear (but not the kind of fear like spiders or height) mental fear, the kind that breaks you, the kind riko put him through. So he didn't even know he had those powers, only found out after he joined Jeremy. Also he usually can control it but sometimes it spoils out, like someone is asking him to pass the sat, and his hand stars to smoke, (or him cuddling with Jeremy, leaves some smoky marks on Jeremy hehe). Also it's harder for him to control it when he sleeps because that is the only state he isn't scared hard enough to block it out, so when he sleeps soemtimes smoke tongue surround him, or even his nightmares and dreams are projected so if anyone watching him sleep (we know it's you Jeremy) they can see his dreams. ALSO if he practices, he can project someone else's imagine that they have in their head. Only thought touch, only with two way trust. He can't read their thoughts, he just has to focus of projecting itself instead sod what he is projecting ykwim? The power is that, because I feel like he was been shut up by people, society, ravens ,riko and many many many others, but not only that, he as a imigrant not only didn't understand but also couldn't speak or express himself, so he has to use something to "show", his projections is sort of his language. He uses it often when he doesn't know how to express his feelings or forgets a word.
- Jeremy's is light (yeah very original ik) but his light cannot be produced in a completely dark room. Like he needs to have a source. For example: if he is in a pitch black cave, he won't be able to use it, but if he is in that. Cave and has like fire touch or smth then he can double the light, (like the physics lawz energy cannot be created or destroyed it can only be stored) (my physics teacher prolly would be proud but IDGAF) and it also has mental impact but positive one (heard of "original"?.... Yeah me neither)
-for wymack as a team leader, and coach/teacher, at first I had trouble with that, but then my friend suggested power-borrowing, so basically he can lend out strength for his team members when they need it (also stolen from HOO, Reyna our power queen, RARA bad romance all that stuff) BUT THEN I thought of a more suitable one. Basically he has the power of knowledge (URGH sounded less clingy in my head) of how to improve. Basically yk how I said that a character can level up.... He knows what exactly they need to do to level up, he tells them what where and how much for what results, but it wouldn't change anything if the person would just not do it (Andrew heheh) so all he has is words.
Okay so I think that's all the ones I actually thought of, if other characters are not here, they are still in the process or (I don't care that much).
this idea was pre-thought, but this post was written at 3 am, so I WILL NOT APOLOGISE FOR ANY TYPOS, MISSLEPINGS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, DEAL WITH IT (also my first ever post tomorrow Tumblr yeah!)
