Okay so. Full disclosure, I have been in the process of moving. That means packing up, actually moving an entire house worth of furniture and knickknacks by my lonesome, and bringing everything into the new place. And of course the general routine maintenance everyone ends up doing after they move in and realize what’s wrong with the new place. So I finished this book in a single sitting while I was taking a break and then it went into a box and I still have not found it to do the pretty 𝓪𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓽𝓲𝓬 post I had been planning on. Now, onto Underground: A Novel by J. L. Hyde. Lemme just tell y’all…. If you like relatable characters? If you like a story that keeps you hooked from page 1 to the end? If you like humor and suspense? IF YOU LIKE OKLAHOMA?!?! Then PLEASE go pick up this book. And please also go give @bookandbeerreview a follow. Welp. Got my first 1 star rating today. And bring that they didn’t leave a review telling me or other potential customers why/what they didn’t like, I can only assume it’s a troll that I’ve managed to piss off online. Oh well, who knows? Since my only other lowest rating was 3 stars, and that individual actually messaged me personally to tell me which bits they didn’t like and give critiques to help improve my writing, I’m not really that bothered by it. But I will say, just as I said on the podcast last week, if your only review is “it’s bad” and you can’t give a creator anything else to work with, maybe don’t leave a review? Welp. Update. Got my shot today and honestly… Worst part about it is mild soreness at the injection site. And the fact that I have a slight fever (which is just my body’s natural reaction to any vaccine, so I was prepared for it). But umm. That fever (about 38.3C/101F) paired with the fact that I live in the American south. And our weather forecast for the week is 88F/31.1C and rainy with 99% humidity. All week…. So.
