i would like video games to stop getting harder to run 10 years ago but ill take today if thats whats available. that way i never have to upgrade my computer ever in order to play any game. we have reached photorealistic like genuinely 10 years ago. its literally fine to not look exactly like real life if it means the game is easier to run and probably better polished. stylize it if you desire even

either figure out more ways to make a more realistic game at the same hardware requirements as the less realistic ones or stylize it

A more positive way to look at it is that good looking games are cheaper and easier to make now. So you can find plenty of good looking indie games that aren't just pixel art.
