I just wanted to say something as we are now approaching the end of mental health awareness week. At some point in everyone’s life, everyone will be suffer with their mental health. For me I used to regularly wear a mask on the outside to please everyone whilst on the inside I was crying. I would always put others before myself and made sure they were okay and looked after them which took its toll on my wellbeing. I would just eat my problems away and this cycle kept repeating and repeating. I didn’t socialise much and when I did I binged drink. I was going down this self destructive path and didn’t know how to stop myself and then had a breakdown. For me mandown has been blessing for me and to many other guys struggling with their mental health. I’m now doing stuff for me which mind sound selfish but being selfish is not necessarily a bad thing. Self care is a better word for it. I’ve taken my life by the wheel and regain control. Mental health has no cure, you will have your ups and you will have your downs but when you have your down days, just remember you are not alone and everyone is here with you every step of the way, no matter how long it takes. Be kind to yourself and always prioritise your life. If you don’t feel comfortable with talking with your family or friends, there are many mental health organisations that will help you every step of the way and you will develop new friendships with lots of other people. You have: Man down Andys Man Club The Mix CALMzone Mind Charity Wish and many many more. You are not alone and never will be ❤️.
