my first time using acrylic markers a couple days ago, I've been doodling on this canvas every day and recording my progress and figured it was high time I shared !! Progress pics + thoughts below
So, of course we need our materials being the canvas + our color choice of the acrylics. my first thought naturally was to draw a rainbow in the corner, which was supposed to be MUCH smaller originally lol. (i also made sure to open my window for some natural light which actually prompted me to put up my new curtains finally lmao)
After the color test, which turned out beautiful, I went ahead and sketched out the lines. fairly simple idea, just needed guides which I erased with the only thing I could find(a mechanical pencil eraser lmao)
Next I colored like a madwoman for like an hour at least, and we got our rainbow starting corner !! Later I also colored down the sides of the canvas, which I don't have a separate photo of but you'll see in future posts. A lot of time in-between long sessions I come back through and adjust previous stuff And that's it for now! I haven't done traditional ANYTHING in so long and it's sooo satisfying being the one getting to do the coloring with these pens, you think watching it on YT is good nuh-uh do it yourself it's much better stay creative and i'll be back tomorrow to put up the progress from canvas day 2

alright, trying this again :-)
progress pics 🤗 I’m down approximately 12 pounds since the second left picture was taken! It hasn’t been an easy or steady journey, and I’m still on it. Body image is something I’ve always really struggled with, as most people have. 3 summers ago I lost 20 pounds in 3 months. I was eating less than 800 calories a day while working out for at least 2 hours a day (how tf did I have the energy for that???). I gained the weight back mainly because my hormones went all whack. I stopped taking my medicine without consulting a doctor and my hormones wreaked havoc on my body. I was hit really hard with depression, probably had a sugar addiction, smoked and drank way too much, plus just moved to an island all by myself. The combination of all this.. didn’t work well.
I was hesitant at starting again because I did not want to develop another eating disorder and obsession. I’ve done a lot of research on the proper diet I should be on for PCOS and how to help balance my hormones through diet. I can’t say I’ve been even close to perfect with sticking to this lifestyle, but enough so to start seeing changes in my body and mind. I’m ecstatic I’ve been able to improve in such ways and not let it take over my life. I’m excited to keep up with my hard work and see where it takes me physically and mentally :-)
I can’t express how grateful I am for this community. I wouldn’t have stuck with it or done it in a healthy way without it. I am so appreciative of my fellow fitblrs for constantly bringing positive motivation and support❤️ ((and also supporting and advocating for all causes, y’all make me proud)).
A colorful drawer of fully dried specimens! It might look like some of the specimens are touching but they’re actually not. It’s best practice to keep specimens completely separate, though you can shingle lepidoptera if you need more space in your drawers.
